Tue Jun 09 2009Winner of Event 18 - $10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better
Daniel Alaei rode a middling stack for most of the tournament before making his charge to the top at the final table as the night progressed. Once Alaei worked his way to the top of the leader board, he showed outstanding discipline and composure, never relinquishing his lead. Alaei outlasted a star-studded field of top tier pros and a final nine that included Daniel Negreau and Annie Duke, eventually topping Scott "BigRiskky" Clements in a very brief heads-up duel to take home his second WSOP bracelet along with $445,898 in cash.
