    Kicker Problems Eliminate Cousineau

    Tony Cousineau pushed his short stack in preflop with {A-Clubs}{4-Spades} and got called by Nathan Tuthill holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

    When the board came {3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, Cousineau flopped a gut-shot straight draw, but couldn't complete as the turn and river brought the {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

    Keith Block Gets Flushed

    Keith Block got his stack into the middle from the small blind and got a call from the late arriving Marco Liesy on the button.

    Block: {10-Spades}{J-Spades}
    Liesy: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

    The flop of {J-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} solidified Block's lead, but gave Liesy a back-door flush draw which he hit with the {4-Clubs} on the turn and the {2-Clubs} on the river.

    Fifty-Fifty

    Fifty players remain, still spread across ten tables. That means that fifty players have been eliminated as well.

    Heads-Up!

    We finally have our first heads-up table of Round 2. At Table 60 in the corner of the room, the two remaining players are sitting at opposite ends of the table, setting up a stare-down heads-up match. Ralph Shannon has a slight lead over Nick Binger, sitting with 250,000 to Binger's 200,000.

    Victor Ramdin Gets Knocked Out

    We got the details of this hand after it happened, but the story is a pretty common one. Victor Ramdin was getting short stacked and pushed all in with ace-jack. He got called by Jan Skampa holding aces.

    The aces held up and Ramdin went to the rail.

    ***Hand Update***

    Ramdin was holding {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} while his Skampa held {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. The final board ran out {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, giving Skampa a full house of sixes and aces.

    JC Alvarado - Out
    JC Alvarado - Out

    JC Finds No Salvation

    We pick up a heads-up pot on the flop as the board shows {A-Spades} {10-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}. JC Alvarado is first to act, and he checks over to his lone opponent. Ralph Shannon moved all in, having Alvarado covered, and the pro would take several minutes to make his decision. Deep in the tank, he counted and re-counted his own chip stack, shooting the occasional glance across the table. Finally, he did indeed make the call, putting his tournament life at risk.

    Showdown
    Alvarado: {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades}
    Shannon: {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs}

    Alvarado had started with the dominating hand, but Shannon's two pair had pulled him into the lead. The turn {3-Hearts} gave Alvarado a couple extra outs, but the {K-Clubs} that hit the river was a blank. Failing to come back from behind, JC Alvarado has been eliminated.

    Jared Hamby Eliminated

    Jared Hamby was behind when he got all his chips in against Chris Klodnicki before the flop and could never catch up.

    Hamby: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
    Klodnicki: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

    A flop of {3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} secured Klodnicki's lead in the hand, and the {8-Hearts} and {2-Spades} on the turn and river ensured that Hamby would not be advancing to Day 3.

    Steven Fung - Out

    No Fung At All

    Bowen Fric and Steven Fung got it all in pre-flop, with the former having the latter covered. Fric showed up {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}, putting Fung's pocket {9-Clubs} {9-Spades} in bad shape.

    The board came out {10-Clubs} {8-Spades} {4-Spades} {6-Hearts} {A-Hearts} to lock it up for Fric, sending Fung to the exit. Fric has chipped up to 110,000.
