Leo WolpertPlay Wraps Up For The Night
Tournament officials decided to have The Finals tomorrow instead of potentially having a last round that goes until tomorrow morning.
In that final, it will be EPT founder John Duthie against law student Leo Wolpert, who will have to call out of his internship tomorrow. Wolpert put a halt on a professional poker playing career to go back to law school at the University of Virginia but decided to play this event while he was in Nevada for the summer internship.
Duthie and Wolpert will square off tomorrow in a best of three final round. They will begin each match with 3,840,000 in chips and blinds of 15,000-30,000.

Jamin Stokes - EliminatedStokes vs. Wolpert: Wolpert Finds a Way
Jamin Stokes raised to 100,000 from the button, and Leo Wolpert made the call from the big blind.
The flop would bring the final betting action of this round, though neither player knew it yet. It came down
. Wolpert checked, and Stokes fired out a bet of 125,000. After stacking out an assortment of technicolor chips, Wolpert finally settled on a raise amount, sliding out 420,000. It didn't take long for Stokes to move all in, and Wolpert quickly called.

Stokes cringed as he saw the worst news possible. His flush draw was no good, but he did have live overcards. The
on the turn made the news worse though, as the all-in player was left drawing to a non-heart ten or queen. To his demise, the river was a blank

Failing to get over the hump, Jamin Stokes has been knocked off in 3rd place, just shy of the final match. Stokes took out Johnny Chan in an epic duel in the previous round, and his match with Wolpert was no easy task either. It was a roller coaster ride, with Stokes nearly felted several times. He had just managed to battle back very close to even before his final match ended, as his winning opponent had him covered by just a few small chips.
With his hard-fought victory, Leo Wolpert has punched his ticket to the final best-of-three match. -

and Stokes checked again. Wolpert bet 342,000 only to have Stokes move all in. Wolpert folded relatively quick, and Stokes took it down. -

Nathan Doudney - 4th PlaceDuthie vs. Doudney: Duthie is Moving On To the Final
Nathan Doudney opened with a button raise to 120,000. After a pause for effect, John Duthie announced that he was all in, and Doudney quickly made the call to put his tournament life on the line.

There was a pot in progress on the other end of the table, and Leo Wolpert said, "I'm gonna fold so I can sweat this hand." A crowd of spectators pressed in around the table as the dealer ran out the board:
Failing to improve, Nathan Doudney becomes our 4th-place finisher. He put up a valiant effort today, but there was just no stopping John Duthie. Duthie ran with the chip lead from wire to wire, executing a truly flawless heads-up victory with nary a slip-up. For his efforts, he will be rewarded with a spot at tomorrow's final showdown.
Doudney was supported on the rail by a laundry list of notable faces, including Erick Lindgren, Gavin Smith, David Chiu, Daniel Alaei, JC Tran, Chris Bell, and Peter Feldman. For his work over the last three days, he's going to stop by the payout desk to pick up $214,289. Not too shabby. -
