    New Chip Leader

Sebastian Ruthenberg won the $5,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo World Championship last year here at the WSOP and also won EPT Barcelona. He has stormed his way to the top of the leaderboard with over 180,000 chips. Mind you, Ruthenberg has been reading the Omaha 8-or-better section of Doyle Brunson's Super/System 2 all day long. Must be working.

    Story Time With Layne Flack

Over at table #60, Layne Flack recenetly told a story about how he may have cheated once in poker when he was younger. "In fact, this may be the one and only time I've ever cheated in poker, but it wasn't really my fault." he said.

According to Layne, the story goes that he was about 20 years old playing a $20-40 game with almost all of his money on the table. The dealer dealt Flack two cards, both deuces. Flack looked at the back of the cards and realized one was brown and one was green, meaning he had a hand from two mixed decks. Figuring he had a better chance of flopping a set, Flack played the hand and covered up the wrong color card. He did in fact flop a set and got paid with a good amount of action.

Revealing his hand at the end was easy because the two deuces weren't off the same suit. But when he had to flip them back over to go into the muck, Layne made sure to do so extremely quickly and then fling them hard into the pile of mucked cards.

Layne went on to say, "I looked at the dealer and said, 'Hey, you've got a brown card in the deck.'"

    Sebastian Ruthenberg Pads His Stack

On a flop of {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Micah Brooks check-called a bet put in by Sebastian Ruthenberg. Brooks also check-called the {6-Clubs} on the turn and {7-Spades} on the river.

When the betting was done, Ruthenberg turned over {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for the nut low and three 7s for the high. After Brooks mucked, his stack fell to 68,000 while Ruthenberg is now sitting on 152,000.

    Toledo Torpedoed

Delmiro Toledo was all in preflop against Micah Brooks and Morten Holm. The flop came down {A-Clubs} {10-Spades} {7-Hearts} and Brooks checked. Holm bet and Brooks called. The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Brooks checked. Holm bet again and Holm called again.

The river was the {Q-Spades} and Brooks checked. Holm bet and Brooks made the call.

To determine the winner of the side pot first, Holm showed {7-Spades} {10-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {J-Hearts}. Brooks couldn't beat tens full of sevens and mucked his hand.

Toledo showed {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts} and couldn't win either. He was eliminated from the tournament while Holm moved atop the leaderboard to 175,000 chips.
