    Sui! Greg Mueller Wins Event 33 -- $10,000 World Championship Limit Hold'em ($460,836)

    After a full 12 hours in the Amazon Room today, Greg Mueller has claimed the World Championship crown in Limit Hold'em.

    He beat a field including Phils Ivey and Hellmuth, Brunsons Todd and Doyle, and of course Jennifer Harman, who wrote the book on this game, to take first place money as well as the coveted bracelet.

    Eagerly railed by a keen army of friends and supporters hollering Mueller's war cry, "Sui!" around the card room for the whole day, the enthusiasm of the rail seemed to propel him forward through an absolute rollercoaster of a final table, where everyone had their turn at being chip leader. Nonetheless it was Mueller who lasted the longest, and he fully deserves his brand new World Championship bracelet.

    Pezzin - second beckoned
    Pezzin - second beckoned

    Pat Pezzin Eliminated in 2nd Place ($285,196)

    Nope, that's it.

    Mueller raised the button, and Pezzin called.

    Flop: {2-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {3-Clubs}

    Pezzin bet out, and then called all in to the raise.

    Pezzin: {10-Diamonds} {8-Spades}
    Mueller: {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds}

    Turn: {Q-Diamonds}

    River: {K-Spades}

    Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

    Wait! There's More!

    Pezzin doubled up next hand, getting lucky when his {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} hit to beat Mueller's rather pretty {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}.

    Board: {5-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Spades}

    Pezzin's up to 340,000...

    How Close Can Pezzin Get to the Felt?

    Oh deary deary me. Pat Pezzin is down to just 150,000.

    He called a button raise from Mueller, and both checked the {5-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} flop. Pezzin bet out on the {Q-Diamonds} turn and Mueller called, and Pezzin decided to check-call the {5-Diamonds} river.

    Mueller flipped {K-Hearts} {5-Spades} for trips, and a dejected Pezzin handed the chips over.

    Check this out:

    Mueller: 5,400,000
    Pezzin: 150,000

    ...Though He's Cutting It Fine

    Pezzin was soon back down to 550,000 though, after his {K-Hearts} {9-Clubs} was no good against Mueller's {Q-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} on a {9-Hearts} {10-Spades} {4-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {7-Hearts} board.

    Pezzin Not Dead Yet

    Pezzin again raised his button and Mueller once again called. In a deja-vuey sort of way, Mueller check-called all the way down the {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {8-Spades} {J-Hearts} board, but this time it was Pezzin who would take it down. Pezzin flipped {6-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and Mueller could only boast king-high.

    Pezzin's back up to 1.2 million.

    First Blood to Mueller; Second Blood also to Mueller

    First hand back, Greg Mueller managed to make two pair with his {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} on an {A-Clubs} {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {4-Clubs} board. Pezzin called him all the way, and boosted Mueller's chip lead to 4.2 million.

    A few hands later and Pezzin raised his button. Mueller called, and then check-called every street of the {5-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {5-Clubs} board. Pezzin could boast the not very good nine-high, and Mueller's {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} took the pot.

    Mueller: 4.65 million
    Pezzin: 900,000
