    Bahador Ahmadi
    Bahador Ahmadi

    Congratulations Bahador Ahmadi, Winner of Event 47

    In the end, it took just one hand for Bahador Ahmadi to claim the bracelet.

    When John McGuiness moved all in for his last 200,000, Ahmadi could easily afford the call after amassing a huge chip lead during the previous Limit session, mostly by calling down the uber-aggressive McGuiness.

    Ahmadi played solidly over the course of the entire final table, changing gears when necessary and never appearing rattled even as play grew more aggressive at a short-handed table. In the end, his measured approach toward paid off with a victory worth $278,104 and a shiny new bracelet.

    Congratulations to our deserving champion!

    John McGuiness - 2nd
    John McGuiness - 2nd

    John McGuiness Eliminated In 2nd Place ($172,227)

    In the first hand heads up, it all went in on a {A-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {7-Spades} flop. McGuiness was in for his last 290,000 and Ahmadi made the call.

    Ahmadi: {J-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}
    McGuiness: {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}

    The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and that was it, McGuiness was drawing dead. The river was a meaningless {4-Clubs} and the two players embraced, McGuiness over $172,000 better off.

    Ylon Schwartz Eliminated in 3rd Place ($112,967)

    Bahador Ahmadi made it 105,000 to go from the button and Ylon Schwartz moved all in for a total of 495,000 from the big blind. Ahmadi took his time before making the call.

    Schwartz: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
    Ahmadi: {A-Spades}{2-Spades}

    When the board ran {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} Schwartz couldn't improve and left in third place with $112,967.

    Ahmadi Cruising?

    Bahador Ahmadir has really been going well in the limit over the last half hour, he's ground his opponents down and is sitting with about 3 million of the 4 million chips in play.

    Ahmadi Asserts Chip Lead

    Ahmadi raises preflop to 100,000 and McGuiness makes it 150,000 in the big blind.

    The flop is {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and both players check.

    On the {2-?} turn Ahmadi bets 100,000 and McGuiness makes it 120,000. Ahmadi calls and both players check the {10-Clubs} river.

    McGuiness shows {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds} but Ahmadi's {K-Spades} {2-Hearts} wins

    Ahmadi Adds More

    Ylon Schwartz raised from the small blind and Bahador Ahmadi called from the big.

    Schwartz then bet each street on a board of {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades} before turning over {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for queen high, which couldn't beat Ahmadi's pair of 7s with his {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

    McGuiness Doubles Through Ahmadi

    Ahmadi raises preflop and McGuiness calls.

    {8-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

    Ahmadi bets and McGuiness calls.

    {10-Diamonds}

    Ahmadi bets again and McGuiness raises, Ahmadi reraises McGuiness all in and the latter calls.

    Ahmadi: {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}
    McGuiness: {K-Spades} {4-Clubs}

    The river is the {A-Spades} and McGuiness avoids the bullets to double up.

    Ahmadi Gets Some Back

    In what's becoming a two player fight, John McGuiness raised and Bahador Ahmadi called taking us to a flop of {6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}.

    Ahmadi bet and McGuiness called, taking us to the turn where both players checked the {5-Clubs}. Ahmadi then bet the {2-Spades} on the river. McGuiness raised, Ahmadi three bet, and McGuiness four bet before showing ace-four for top pair.

    It wasn't good enough though, as Ahmadi showed ace-queen for top two and took the pot.

    Schwartz Needs Some Magic...
    Schwartz Needs Some Magic...

    Schwartz Can't Find His Club

    Schwartz raises to 100,000 and Ahmadi calls in the big blind.

    Schwartz bets all the way of a {5-Spades} {6-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {7-?} {8-Hearts} river but Ahmadi calls him down with {2-Hearts} {2-Clubs} and Schwartz can only show {Q-Clubs} {3-Clubs}.
