    Schaffel Can't Stand Up to Kopp

    Billy Kopp opened the pot to 600,000 fromt he small blind. Kevin Schaffel was in the big blind and called the raise.

    The two players eyed each other over on a flop of {2-Spades} {4-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Kopp had first action and made it 800,000 to go. Schaffel called. On the turn {K-Spades} Kopp fired again, for 1.75 million total. That bet was enough to fold Schaffel.

    Kopp's count is now approximately 20.2 million. Schaffel has roughly half that, with 10.8 million.

    Begs' Bet Wins

    Steve Begleiter raised to 600,000 and got two callers in James Akenhead and Phil Ivey.

    The {Q-Clubs} {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} flop was checked around. The turn came the {A-Spades} and Begleiter's 1.8 million bet took it down.

    Cada Check-Raises Ivey

    Joe Cada opened for 620,000 and Phil Ivey called from the hijack seat.

    Ivey led out for 800,000 on the {4-Spades} {2-Clubs} {2-Hearts} flop and was met with a raise from Cada to 2.1 million. Ivey tanked for about three minutes before folding.

    "Ship it baller hollers!" shouted an inebriated fan from the lounge (it's actually Holla Ballas, dude).

    Cada took his stack back up to 13.2 million with that pot while Ivey slipped to 6.7 million.

    Cada Still on the Downward Spiral

    Joe Cada raised to 600,000 and Steve Begleiter called from the button.

    Both players checked the {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {3-Spades} flop. The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Begleiter's 900,000 lead bet was enough to chase away Cada.

    Begleiter= 28.8 million
    Cada= 11.8 million

    Re-Balancing Again

    Because of two eliminations from the outer table, one player was broken off the feature table. That player was Eric Buchman, who brings his tournament-leading chip stack to the seat directly to the left of Darvin Moon.

    James Calderaro - 13th Place
    James Calderaro - 13th Place

    James Calderaro Eliminated in 13th Place ($633,022)

    A short-stacked James Calderaro open-shoved for about 2.5 million from the button, and Kevin Schaffel called from the big blind. They turned their cards on their backs:

    Schaffel {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
    Calderaro {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}

    The flop came {2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and Schaffel's tens were still best. The turn brought the {Q-Spades} and an "ooh" from the crowd, noting Calderaro's spade flush draw.

    But the river was the {5-Diamonds}, and Calderaro goes out in 13th. Schaffel is at 11.7 million now.

    Akenhead Puts the Squeeze On

    Eric Buchman raised to 650,000, Phil Ivey called from the cutoff, and James Akenhead moved all in from the small blind. Buchman folded and Ivey stared down Akenhead for a minute before folding.

    That pot took Akenhead up to 6.15 million.

    Ben Lamb - 14th Place
    Ben Lamb - 14th Place

    Ben Lamb Eliminated in 14th Place ($633,022)

    Ben Lamb opened for 655,000 chips preflop from the cutoff. Action moved to Jeff Shulman in the big blind, who reraised enough to put Lamb all in. Needing to double up, Lamb made the call.

    Lamb: {A-Spades} {J-Spades}
    Shulman: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

    The look on Lamb's face after a flop of {9-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {3-Spades} was one of utter disappointment. He puffed his cheeks out in a big sigh as he watched the curtain quickly fall on his run in the Main Event. It ended with the {7-Diamonds} turn. At that point, Lamb was drawing dead. He shook Shulman's hand and passed Shulman the remainder of his stack. The {2-Hearts} river card sealed the deal.

    Shulman is up to 22.0 million chips.
