PartyPoker Cruise set for March 19 0001

The prize-pool for the PartyPoker.Com Million IV tournament, played on the MS Oosterdam cruise-liner, which sets sail on March 19 from San Diego, is estimated to be $7.5 million with a field of 750 players.

The figures compare favourably with the combined $3.82 million paid out on instalments I, II and III and is very much a confirmation of the ever-increasing popularity of poker.

Furthermore, the winner will walk away with $2 million. That's according to Mark Tenner president of the Las Vegas-based Card Player Cruises who are organising the vent.

The format is a familiar one with a 10,000 chip starting-stack and four days of play needed to reach the six-seat final, which will be filmed for the World Poker Tour TV series.

Previous winners of the PartyPoker.Com Million include Erick Lindgren, who won $1,000,000 in the 2004, Howard Lederer ($263,850) in 2003 and Kathy Liebert ($1,000,000) in 2002.

Cruise packages, which obviously includes a seat in the big tournament are valued at $12,600 apiece and can be won at PartyPoker.
