Take A Detour To The Latest Poker Fashion 0001

Poker Detour the online boutique of poker inspired clothing has opened it's doors, what will you be wearing at the next tournament?

Fashion influences every walk of life, from sports stars to politicians, the clothes you wear and are seen in are very important, especially when it comes to making a first impression. Poker players are not the most fashionable people in the world, to say the least! Many opt for a very casual look, clothes they feel comfortable in at home, others, such as Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot, will often be seen in trademark suits.

Poker Detour caters for the casual wear poker player, with a variety of quality t-shirts and hats, designed for both men and women. So will the boom in poker still in full swing, can this transpire into a boom in poker fashion?

We spoke briefly to Steve from Avid Players Corporation about their new business.

PN: You have some great clothing on your site, what is your best selling item so far?

Steve: Our best selling item so far is a shirt called "Eat, Sleep, Poker". It seems that the game of poker is on everyone's mind 24 hours a day. We also have sold many AK "Big Slick" shirts too. However, we've heard from many people who would like to see more than just t-shirts. This has prompted us to design a whole new line called "Ace Inc." incorporating Ringer and Raglan Shirts, as well as, Retro button-down Shirts and Hats.

PN: With poker on TV now very popular, will you be attempting to get some players to wear your clothing for WSOP or WPT events?

Steve: Yes, we will be working with players to wear our clothing at WSOP and WPT events. We have had discussions with a number of players. We would like to speak to any professional poker player that would be interested though. A rising star from here in Sacramento (our sales office), J.C. Tran would be a good fit for us. Lastly, we are close to announcing a major national partner that will help us with the PokeDetour-brand on more poker players.

PN: What are your goals for pokerdetour.com for 2005?

Steve: Our major goals for 2005 are to focus on designing, marketing, and producing unique poker-inspired clothing. We feel that we offer the most creatively designed poker clothing on the market. We would eventually like to see our clothing distributed by a major retailer nationally. We plan to market the PokerDetour-brand with Partners at major tournaments and company-sponsored events. Since we launched PokerDetour.com in mid-November 2004, we have been getting over 70,000 hits a month. We will continue to increase our focus on greater customer visibility while growing our sales volume over 200% a month.

PN: Thank you Steve.
