Online Poker Weekend: 'Pairofnothin' Captures Stars Sunday Million 0001

Overlay? What overlay? No big tournament series for awhile means that everyone gets to share the wealth, and the big three, PokerStars, Full Tilt and PartyPoker, all exceeded their usual guarantees. There's still lots of poker, and money, to go around for everyone.

PokerStars Sunday Million

As is typical for this event, PokerStars blazed past its guarantee. With 6,366 players, the prize pool was $1,273,200, and the winner would normally receive $183,086.16. 900 places paid.

On the very first hand of the final table, Binde made a big $2 million re-raise in late position, over the top of Pairofnothin's standard raise. Pairofnothin went all in, having Binde covered and then some, and Binde called. Pairofnothin took some back and showed {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} to Binde's {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The board was {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Binde got $7,893.84 for ninth.

Only a minute or so later, canalman raised to a million, four big blinds, in middle position. twin peaks07 went all in for 7.2 million to isolate and it worked. He took most of his chips back and showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} to canalman's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The race was on, and the board was {2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. canalman was out in eighth for $12,732.

After being crippled in a huge pot against Ralfinator with nines versus ace-king with an ace on the flop, Crawfdad went all in on the next hand. twin peaks07 called the small blind and McNAbb2 checked the big blind, creating a side pot. The flop was {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and the side pot checked. The turn was {k-Clubs} and the side players checked again. The river was {5-Hearts} and they both checked. twin peaks07 showed {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and the pair of fives on the board was good enough to beat two other players. He took it all and Crawfdad left in seventh for $21,007.80.

Next, Pairofnothin made a huge re-raise – 3.6 million – over the top of Ralfinator's standard raise. Ralfinator requested time and then re-raised all in. Pairofnothin called, and true to his name, showed not a pair, but {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Ralfinator had {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. The board was {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Ralfinator got $29,283.60 for sixth.

Several minutes later, ClubbedBoat made a standard raise and LukeFromB13 re-raised all in over the top. ClubbedBoat called and had {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} to LukeFromB13's {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The board was {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and LukeFromB13 went back to B13 with $40,869.72.

Though twin peaks07 would climb into the chip lead, after a long, 40-minute four-way fight, he would be next out when Pairofnothin shoved on the button with {a-Spades}{4-Clubs} and twin peaks07 called with {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. They were the ducks that failed, as the board was {4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts}. twin peaks07 was out in fourth for $53,474.40.

Though the players were ready to talk deal, they had to get through another hand first, and it turned into a serious one instead of a fold-around. ClubbedBoat shoved in the small blind with {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and McNAbb2 called with {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}. The board was {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} and McNAbb2 had to settle for $68,625.48 for third.

A long argument over a money split ensued, with ClubbedBoat holding a 2.5 to 1 lead. Eventually, Pairofnothin settled on $110,000 to ClubbedBoat's $138,000 with $30,448.84 in the middle. Eleven minutes of heads-up later, ClubbedBoat made a comeback and won the event. Pairofnothin raised on the button and ClubbedBoat shoved. Pairofnothin called and turned over {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} to ClubbedBoat's {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. The board was {7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The straight did not come and Pairofnothin took the event, winning a total of $140,448.84 to ClubbedBoat's similar amount, $138,000.

Jubbley had the killer {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} to Eddits' {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Fire80's {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Unusually, it would take over five minutes for the first player to bust out. The curiously named TheGayTinTin went all in over the top of mulchie's standard raise, who called. TheGayTinTin had {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} and mulchie had {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The board was {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and TheGayTinTin took his $2,905.10 for tenth.

It was mulchie who called with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} to Dosenshooter's {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The board was {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Dosenshooter left in eighth.

Soon after, LaMano87 shoved in late position with {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Dr_Gammon called with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and the board offered not enough help: {2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. LaMano87 was out in seventh for $8,103.70.

The speedy bustouts continued. Th0mas_p0ker shoved under the gun and sjukov called with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to Th0mas_p0ker's {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}. With a board of {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Th0mas_p0ker left in sixth for $10,550.10.

The board was {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and krisch received $14,066.80 for fifth.

Leaving in fourth was mace64, whose {a-Spades}{7-Clubs} ran into Dr_Gammon's {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} on a board of {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. mace64 collected $16,666.10.

Twelve more minutes of play elapsed before sjukov went all in on the button and mulchie re-raised all in (a difference of only about 8,000 in chips). Dr_Gammon folded, mulchie had {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and sjukov had {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. The board was {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and sjukov received $21,100.20 for third.

Though the lead was only two-and-a-half to one heads-up, Dr_Gammon still wouldn't deal. Heads-up play went on for 17 minutes until Dr_Gammon raised on the button and mulchie called. The flop was {8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and mulchie checked. Dr_Gammon bet 480,000, about half the pot, and mulchie check-raised to 960,000. Dr_Gammon went all in and mulchie called. Dr_Gammon showed {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} for top pair, and mulchie had {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for top pair, worse kicker. The cards came {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and mulchie took $33,638 for second, meaning Dr_Gammon won the tournament and $61,160.
