Online Poker Weekend: Sunday Million Winner's Share Flows to 'CHIPFLOW'

Online Poker Weekend: Sunday Million Winner's Share Flows to 'CHIPFLOW' 0001

No deal or no deal? This week, despite the ability to chop by chip count in both the PokerStars and PartyPoker major events, nobody did. Everyone played it out to the bitter end, despite several occasions when the closeness in chip counts might have invited a chop. Good news for those who won first place, as they maximized their profit.

PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million had a good crowd this week, with 6,342 players creating a big $1,268,400 prize pool. First place would receive $182,395.92 – and again, with no deal made, the maximum payout was at stake. 900 places paid this week.

One well-known online player made the final table of this one. Nick "gbmantis" Niergarth won the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed on Feb. 18 and a $25,000 Guaranteed on PokerStars last Dec. 9. He also took second in a $200,000 Guaranteed on PokerStars on June 3, and is a "triple crown" winner on Pocket Fives, meaning he won three bigger online tournaments in a single 7-day period.

Among PokerStars-sponsored pros, only Victor Ramdin cashed, in 326th.

The first player out was PimpJazzyJef, who open-shoved from second position. calmdwn1 re-raised in the small blind to force Tulkaz in the big blind out, and it worked. calmdwn1 took some back, and flipped over {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} to PimpJazzyJef's {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The board was {6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and PimpJazzyJef collected $7,864.08 for ninth.

At the ten-minute mark, squirtyb open-shoved under the gun for 1.8 million with blinds at 150,000/300,000 and a 30,000 ante. Tulkaz called and had {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to squirtyb's {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. The board came {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and squirtyb was out in eighth for $12,684.

At this point, gabrygabry had the chip lead with 17 million, but lost it all in eight minutes. gabrygabry went all in on the button and CHIPFLOW called. CHIPFLOW turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} to gabrygabry's {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The board was {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and gabrygabry exited in seventh, earning 20,928.60.

Again, the chip leader would be the next one out. calmdwn1 had 15 million at the end of the previous bustout, but 26 minutes of back-and-forth action led to his elimination. calmdwn1 went all in under the gun, and Fjusse re-raised all in. CHIPFLOW folded and Fjusse took some back, showing {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} to calmdwn1's {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The board was {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}, sending calmdwn1 home in sixth for $29,173.20.

Next, Tulkaz shoved in the cutoff and gbmantis re-raised all in. No callers and some back, and gbmantis had {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Tulkaz had {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}. The board was {j-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Tulkaz left in fifth for $40,715.64.

Then, rowang shoved, also in the cutoff. CHIPFLOW called with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} to rowang's {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. The board was {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and rowang was out in fourth, earning $53,272.80.

After that, gbmantis was all in for 10,273,116 and CHIPFLOW called, showing {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to gbmantis' {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The board was {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Nick "gbmantis" Niergarth left in third for $68,366.76.

CHIPFLOW had a big 5:1 lead over Fjusse going into heads up, and play lasted exactly two hands. CHIPFLOW raised 2x and Fjusse called. The flop was {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Fjusse checked. CHIPFLOW bet 2 million. Fjusse check-raised all in and CHIPFLOW called, showing {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} to Fjusse's {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Diamonds were not forever, as the turn and river came {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Fjusse settled for $95,003.16 for second. CHIPFLOW won $182,395.92 and the PokerStars Sunday Million.

Another event, another cash for Keith Sexton. This "red" Full Tilt pro has been on a mini-rush lately. First, he hit 90th in the $750,000 Guaranteed on Sept. 23. Then, 126th on Nov. 25.
