Hello there and welcome back to the PartyPoker Weekly where we bring you the latest PartyPoker news from the past week. This edition brings you news on the upcoming Summer Million, has an interview with the man who inadvertently covered his table with pepper spray at the WSOP and much more besides. Enjoy.
You could be getting your summer of to the perfect start thanks to the Summer Million on PartyPoker. As the name suggests this tournament is going to boast a $1,000,000 prize pool and you could win your share by winning a seat for absolutely nothing!
On Aug. 5 at 13:30 ET the $600+$40 PartyPoker Summer Million kicks off. Each player who has entered this amazing tournament will start with a huge stack of 20,000 chips and play to a tried and tested blind structure that starts at just 25/50 and increases every 20 minutes.
The entry fee may be a little steep for your typical player — we count ourselves in that bracket — but there are a number of satellite tournaments running on PartyPoker right up to the time the Summer Million gets under way; and some of these satellites cost nothing to enter.
Every day there will be Daily Country Specific Freerolls where the top 10 players progress to a Summer Million Special satellite; in this second stage there are five seats guaranteed to the Summer Million event. Those of you not wanting to go down the freeroll route can take part in the Player Points Qualifiers, along with freezeout and rebuy satellites starting at just $1. There really is nothing stopping you from participating in what could be the online tournament of the year.
The Infamous Pepper Spray Man
Those of you who have been following our excellent World Series of Poker coverage will be aware of an incident in the Main Event that caused plenty of commotion. During the Main Event one table finished up covered in pepper spray after what — thankfully — turned out to be an accident involving a self-defense pen! Here the PartyPoker video crew caught up with the "Pepper Spray Man" and asked him just what happened.
Play In The New Player $1,500 Freeroll
Along with being able to claim a free $50 bankroll from PartyPoker — more on that later — new players can also take part in a New Player $1,500 Freeroll. As the name suggests, this freeroll is only open to new PartyPoker players and boasts a prize pool of $1,500.
All you need to do if you want to play in it and stand a chance of winning some free cash is to make your first real money deposit onto PartyPoker and you will be given access to the next available new player freeroll. It really is as easy as that.
Each freeroll is capped at 5,000 entrants so that you have a better chance to make it through to the money places but please be aware that you have to manually register for the new player freeroll, you will not be automatically registered like in some of PartyPoker's other tournaments.

Jared Tendler Talks All Things Mental
Friend of PokerNews, Jared Tendler, recently caught up with the PartyPoker Blog during a quiet time at the WSOP and answered a few questions about the mental side of the game. If anyone is qualified to discuss the mental game of poker then it is the man who quite literally wrote the book; and by the same title too.
Lee Davy interviewed Mr Tendler and you can find that interview right here. Be sure to check out the other interviews on the PartyPoker Blog.
