Live Poker Tournaments To Play in the UK, Ireland in February

There is live poker tournament action the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and Ireland during February giving players plenty of choice where to head during the second month of 2017.

Kicking off the month is the opening leg of the 2017 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) at the Poker Room formerly known as The Vic. Several tournaments are on the schedule for the first event of the tour’s 10th season, with the highlight being the £200,000 guaranteed Main Event.

The GUKPT returns later in the month when it heads to Bury New Road in Manchester for the second leg of the 2017 tour.

Sandwiched between those GUKPT events are a trio of DTD200 tournaments. The DTD200 tournaments may be a newcomer to the UK poker scene but they have been well-received thanks in part to their £100,000 guarantee for only a £220 buy in.

Leg 1 of the 2017 Genting Poker Series took place in January and this month sees Leg 2 take place in Newcastle, a relative hotbed for poker. GPS Newcastle is sure to be a major hit with the local players and those traveling north, too.

Further north, in Scotland, the Grosvenor Maybury Casino in Edinburgh welcomes the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) for the Scottish Amateur Poker Championship.

Several events are on the schedule in Ireland during February. There’s the Munster Open in Dungarvan, The Big One in Bundoran, The One Day Special at the Green Isle Hotel in Dublin, the potentially huge partypoker Grand Prix Cork and the 2017 D4 Events Dublin Poker Festival at the Regency Hotel in Dublin. That last one takes place from Feb. 10-18 so you may need to clear things with your other half if you are planning on playing poker during Valentine’s Day.
