First APAT World Championship Champions Crowned
The first champions of the of the Season 10 finale of the Amateur Poker Association & Tour’s World Championships Of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) at the Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road have been crowned.
Chris Webber Crowned Irish Championship Winner
Chris Webber was the first APAT player to get his hands on a coveted APAT gold medal and a WCOAP bracelet after he won the Irish Championship. Webber also scooped £350 cash after defeating Warren Jones heads-up for the title.

Asa McGrath Wins Two WCOAP Bracelets in a Week
Asa McGrath won an AAT WCOAP title in 2013 when he was part of the winning team in the World Amateur Team Championship. Now he has an individual title after winning the 8-Game Championship in 2017.
McGrath got his hands on the title after defeating Warren Brooks heads up. McGrath held A♦6♣6♦3♥ and Brooks held A♥K♥Q♠4♣ in the final hand, a pot-limit Omaha round. The five community cards ran 2♦9♠7♦2♣Q♦ to gift McGrath a flush and the title.

After McGrath was the last man standing in the 8-Game Championshipm he went on to win the Turbo Championship to round off a superb weekend of poker action.
McGrath defeated Stephen Hollinshead, who won the 6-Max Championship, heads up to get his hands on another gold medal and WCOAP bracelet.

Stephen Hollinshead Triumphs in the 6-Max Championship
Stephen Hollinshead secured his third live poker title by taking down the 6-Max Championship. Hollinshead won a £46 buy-in tournament at Dusk Till Dawn in May 2010 and then a £20 buy-in event in April 2016. Now he can boast of a hat trick of victories after topping the field in this WCOAP tournament.

Paul Haycock Bags Up Biggest Main Event Stack
Paul Haycock bagged up the most chips in the first of three starting flights over the weekend. Haycock has almost $135,000 in live tournament winnings, thanks in part to winning $46,168 in June 2016 when he was victorious in a $600 buy-in tournament in Las Vegas.
Haycock ended Day 1a with a 182,000 stack and is now in pole position to add more money to his lifetime winnings.
