The second event of the ChampionChips series attracted 2,744 players to the 888poker tables to smash the $25,000 guarantee by $4,909. This tournament ended in a four-handed chop with Brazil’s “jiraiaKK” claiming the lion’s share of the prize pool, namely $3,915. Interestingly, third-placed “8varethika” won the second-largest amount thanks to the deal struck between the final foursome.

The third event of the series was played at a fast and furious pace due to it only costing $1 to enter, being played to turbo speed blinds and players being allowed to make rebuys during late registration. A field of 1,941 players purchased 1,153 rebuys between them and broke the guarantee by more than $1,300.

“Yuramouzze” was the player to emerge victorious, banking $444 after six hours of play.

The first non-hold’em event of the ChampionChips was Event #5, a pot-limit Omaha tournament that attracted 430 players who made 207 rebuys between them. The six-handed event saw the final four players strike a deal that locked up a minimum of $366 for them.

Event #6: $30,000 Weightlifting (High Roller)

The biggest tournament, in terms of the buy-in, of the ChampionChips series was Event #6, the $55 buy-in $30,000 guaranteed high roller. Despite being quite expensive compared to the other 17 events, 736 players took to the felt and exchanged their $55 for 5,000 tournament chips. After almost 10.5 hours of play, “5banki” emerged victorious and collected $6,752 but the country of Brazil was the real winner with three players at the final table and two in the final three.
