Sunday was one of the busiest days of poker of 2017 thanks to the partypoker Powerfest and PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker getting underway.

At partypoker, 17 Powerfest events ranging from $5.50 to $5,200 took place with the $5,200 buy-in $500K Gtd High Roller being the highlight of the day. A field of 117 created a $585,000 prize pool and a $143,325 top prize.

"Z0rr088" busted in 17th place to burst the money bubble, paving the way for partypoker sponsored pro Kristen "Krissyb24" Bicknell to collect the $11,700 16th place prize. By the time the final table was reached, the least anyone would take home was $19,012, the amount awarded to "MechaCorta" the eighth-place finishers.

Heads-up saw "orud74" lock horns with Chris "thebattler33" Hunichen and it was the latter who came out on top to scoop $143,325 and left their opponent to bank the $102,375 runner-up prize.

Fabrizio "DrMiKee" Gonzalez (pictured), also known as "sixthsense19" online, took down the $250K Gtd High Roller for nearly $60,000. Gonzalez is the top-ranked online tournament player in Uruguay, according to PocketFives, with more than $5 million in recorded cashes across all sites.
