Fedor Holz's Life of a Champion Ep. 6: Final Tabling the $100K

In the sixth episode of the mini-documentary series that captures an inside look into Fedor Holz’s high roller journey through the Poker Masters at ARIA in Las Vegas, Holz is getting ready for Day 2 of the fifth and final event of the series – the $100,000 freezeout.

With a win in the final event, Holz could be the overall money leader in the series and win the Purple JacketTM, but only if his friend and current leader Steffen Sontheimer finishes worse than second place.

Day 2 of $100K at Poker Masters

In the morning, Holz gets in another phone session with his mental game coach, Elliot and says he feels extra prepared as a result, “ready to win the tournament.”

Holz went into Day 2 sitting fifth in chips of the remaining 14 players. The documentary shows a glimpse of Holz eliminating Byron Kaverman early in the day with aces against Kaverman’s queens after the board ran out jack-high. That pot put him close to the top and he was soon contending for the chip lead.

Holz finished Day 2 leading the final six players with good friends Christian Christner, Sontheimer and Stefan Schillhabel not far behind to round out the top four stacks. In the video, Sontheimer talks some smack to Holz regarding the potential outcomes of the final table and the four head to dinner.

“It’s going to be a German home game tomorrow. I love that,” Holz said.

Holz shares that he has no swaps or action on other players in this one, and has around 50 percent of his own action in the event. Schillhabel shares about his side bet with Daniel Negreanu as well as the Poker Masters fantasy draft. And you'll never guess who they say is serving as their accountant for all the side action.
