A total of 1,236 players put down $2,100 for the chance to win what was originally a $386,012 first place prize, among them some of poker’s elite players. The likes of Team PokerStars Pro Jeff “JeffGross” Gross, recent Big $215 winner Ryan “PROTENTIALmn” Laplante, Kristen “krissyb24” Bicknell, Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, JC “PrtyPsux” Alvarado, and Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky all finished in the money, the latter being the unfortunate soul to burst the final table bubble.

Going into the final table it was Germany’s “Picasso25” who was the chip leader amd Romania’s “ragAAAila19” who was bringing up the rear.

The first elimination, however, was that of “molda79” who moved all-in for 1,400,000 from under the gun with ace-queen and lost to the pocket tens of “power2prut” which flopped two pair and improved to a full house on the river.

Eighth-place was decided soon after and it was power2prut who sent another player to the rail. ragAAAila19 pushed all-in with a pair of kings only to see power2prut wake up with the best starting hand on Texas hold’em, a pocket aces. The cowboys couldn’t shoot down the rockets and the player count reduced by one.

Another pair versus overpair scenario claimed the tournament life of “germaxi.” Picasso got the ball rolling with a raise to 308,000 in the cutoff and then he called when germaxi three-bet all-in for 2,500,000. Picasso25 turned over a pair of queen, which were way ahead of the jacks in germaxi’s hand, and when the board ran out all low cards it was game over for germaxi.

Kenny “LoneHixx” Hicks then found himself in a coinflip with king-queen against the pocket deuces of “EdenR” in a hand that gifted EdenR the chip lead. The board was nine-high by the turn and the river gave EdenR a set to bust another player.

The five remaining players were now all guaranteed a six-figure score of $107,218 but EdenR would not win any additional money. A brief raising war saw EdenR all-in and at risk of elimination with a pair of five and power2prut in a commanding position with a pair of black kings. The five community cards ran out without a five in sight and EdenR headed for the showers.

power2prut then came from behind with a pair of deuces against the black sixes of Picasso25 by flopping a set to leave only three players in contention for the title, before power2prut’s amazing run continued when his sixes held against the suited ace-jack of “XMorphineX” to send the tournament into the heads-up stage.

The heads-up duo decided to strike a deal despite power2prut holding a 48,945,774 to 12,854,226 chip lead and that deal saw power2prut lock up $324,304 and “MASUR0N1KE” $292,500, leaving $49,440 to play for.

A large pot went the way of power2prut to leave MASUR0N1KE on fumes. MASUR0N1KE then called all-in with king-eight and needed help to beat the ace-seven in the hand of power2prut. An ace-high flop left the at-risk player needing running cards to stay in the hand. The turn was a king but the river bricked off to leave power2prut to claim his second Sunday Million title having won the tournament some 10 years previously for $180,000.
