The 2018 Irish Poker Open €1,275 Main Event is just around the corner, taking place at City West Hotel located in the heart of the Irish capital of Dublin from March 14-19.

The event is the longest-standing poker tournament in Europe and second in the world only behind the World Series of Poker.

This year's event features a huge €500,000 guarantee. However, if last year is any indication, it's likely the guarantee will be smashed as in 2017, 1,129 entrants battled it out for a share of a mouth-watering €1,128,295 prize pool.

Canada's Griffin Benger, who was fresh off a World Series of Poker final table, added his names to poker's history books after he won the event for €200,000.
