Almost 6,000 players bought into this week’s Sunday Million ensuring the guarantee was well and truly hit. The $1,191,600 prize pool was shared among the top 1,052 finishers, with a min-cash weighing in at $342.82, a final table appearance being worth $9,464, and the eventual champion scooping $160,888.

Canada’s “7Phenom1991” was the final table’s first casualty. They busted in ninth-place, which meant the remaining eight players would all walk away with at least a five-figure score.

“pececada” busted in eighth-place for $13,485 and was joined on the rail by the Netherlands’ “funkyphaquir”, Germany’s “jay6789”, and “karmakamal0” who was representing the United Kingdom.

Fourth-place and $55,602 went to Romania’s “Stormania” with the exit of Latvia’s “auercan” leaving only two players in the hunt for the massive top prize. Both were guaranteed a six-figure score regardless of their finishing position.

“Pthelegend” and "hello_totti" battled heads-up in what was essentially a near $50,000 heads-up sit and go tournament. Despite the huge jump in pay, there was no deal struck so when "hello_totti" sent their final opponent to the sidelines, they collected $160,888 with the runner-up taking $112,902 back to Canada.

Over to partypoker now where 83 players contested a $207,500 prize pool in the $2,600 buy-in Sunday Super High Roller, a prize pool shared among the top 12 finishers.

Patrick “Patrick_Leonard” Leonard, the partypoker ambassador, crept into the money, finishing 10th for $6,743, two places away from the final table where at least $7,262 awaited.

“DamianLillard” and “MisterN411” busted in eighth and seventh-place meaning the remaining six players would win at least $10,893. This was the sum “iamnotyourbuddy” collected before “LoSientoGrace” crashed out in fifth-place for a $14,525 addition to their bankroll.

Two superstars then saw their tournaments come to an abrupt end. Niklas “Drulitooo” Astedt and Samuel “JHelppi” Vousden busted in fourth and third-place for scores of $18,675 and $26,975, which left “jo1ntheparty” and “ACHSO8000” to battle heads-up for the title.

It was a fight that “ACHSO8000” went on to win, therefore securing the $54,987 top prize and resigning jo1ntheparty to the $38,387 consolation prize.

“MisterN411” of the Netherlands won the Aug. 5 edition of the $80,000 Whale at 888poker and came agonisingly close to a second title within a month when they reached the tournament’s final table again on Aug. 19. Their impressive run came to an end in fifth-place for a $6,000 score this time around but they have the measure of this event, that is for sure.

This week’s Whale title is now in Russia after “josef_Shvejk” outlasted 75 opponents to scoop the $26,000 first-place prize. The Russian defeated Finland’s “jnvanli” heads-up meaning the Finn walked away with a $16,800 consolation prize.

The final table was also the home to Jans “Graftekkel” Arends and “Prebzzz” who are both dangerous players but who could not get going at the final table. Arends exited in eighth-place for $3,200 with Norway’s Prebzzz collecting $3,600 for their seventh-place finish.
