The weekend usually brings excitement at the online felt, but there's more reasons to be excited with the culmination of the Global Poker Home Series with Sunday's final Scrimmage guaranteeing SC 500,000.
We spoke to Global Poker General Manager David Lyons who says that the Series has been going great.
"There's been a lot of interest from players," Lyons told PokerNews. "A lot of players have been grinding the satellites to get into the daily main event. Most events have hit their guarantees but a few notables just missed; a couple of the PLO events and one of the larger Sunday Scrimmages, but that is part and parcel of an ambitious series like this.
"We are looking forward to paying out well over the SC 2,000,000 and GC 70,000,000 series guarantees by the end."
How Does Global Poker Work?

"Obviously our final SC 500,000 GTD Scrimmage on April 26 will be a crowd-pleaser. This will be the biggest tournament we've ever run. We've also seen our Home Series Gold Coin events outperforming their guarantees 1 to 3 with now more than a 100,000,000 Gold Coins won."
The guarantee on the Scrimmage this Sunday is double anything the site has ever done before, and ten times what typical Scrimmage tournaments guarantee so far this year, but Lyons insists that they wanted the final tournament in the series to be "an absolute door-buster."
