The GG Spring Festival keeps on producing massive prize pools and those gargantuan pots attract the very best poker players in the business. Two such players helped themselves to seven-figure prizes, prizes worth a combined $2,643,284!
Sweden’s Joakim Andersson triumphed in the $10,300 buy-in Main Event and walked away with an incredible $1,537,605 for his efforts. Mikita Badziakouski also netted a huge prize, one worth $1,105,679. Here is how they did it.
Anderson Secures Career-Best $1.5 Million Score
The GGSF Super MILLION$ ME-H: $10,300 drew in a crowd of 1,089 players across multiple site, who ensured the $10 million guarantee was surpassed by $890,000. Only the top 125 players received a slice of this pie, a min-cash weighing in $24,762.
Rainer Kempe, Dario Sammartino, and Guillaume Nolet were among the first in-the-money players to bust. Others who saw a return on their $10,300 investment included Isaac Baron, Nick Petrangelo, Ole Schemion, Matthias Eibinger, Sam Greenwood, Anatoly Filatov, Mike Watson, Sami Kelopuro, and Pablo Brito Silva.
Each of the nine finalists could win no less than $192,201 such was the size of the prize pool. Taylor Paur got his hands on that sum when a clash with Andersson did not pan out the way he expected.
The dangerous Alex Foxen headed to the showers in eighth-place, again at the hands of the hot-running Andersson. Foxen lost a coinflip with ace-ten against Andersson’s red fives and was resigned to a $249,253 haul.
Andersson took a break from busting opponents to allow Julian Stuer to send Roman “RRomashka” Emelyanov to the rail in seventh, a finish worth $323,242.
Stuer then sent Gergely “Land on it!” Kulcsar to the sidelines with the $419,193 sixth-place prize money in tow before India’s “level29” ran their pocket threes into Andersson’s far superior pair of tens.
Andersson then found pocket kings to send Australian pro Stevan “Steve Austin” Chew home in fourth place. That hand put the ball firmly in Andersson’s court as he now had more than 68 million chips with his nearest rival, Darrell Goh holding 24.5 million chips.
Goh was the next player out of the door and it was Andersson who did the damage once more. This left Andersson and Stuer heads-up with the former holding a massive 92,158,558 to 16,741,442 chip lead. It did not take too long for Anderson to get his hands on Stuer’s short stack.

Badziakouski Clinches Latest $25,500 Super High Roller Event Crown
Belarusian Mikita Badziakouski bulldozed his way to victory in the $25,500 Sunday 5 Million, eliminating six of his eight opponents at the star-studded final table.
Michael Zhang was Badziakouski’s first victim; he fell in ninth place for $110,568. Elio Fox then sent Ronny Kaiser to the rail in eighth before Badziakouski eliminated American pro Sean Winter in seventh.
Fox claimed his second scalp of the evening when his queens held against the king-queen of Sebastian “TheodoreRhye” Trisch, but then it was all Badziakouski.
The partypoker ambassador busted Timofey Kuztnetsov, start-of-the-day chip leader Fox, and Matthew “Nator” Hyman, who banked $621,769 for his third-place exit.
Badziakouski had a 19-to-1 chip advantage over Michel “CrossfireX” Dattani going into heads-up, and although Dattani managed to claw some chips back, there was only ever going to be one result.
The last of Dattani’s stack went into the middle holding ace-deuce with Badziakouski holding eight-six of diamonds. Badziakouski improved to a straight by the river to reel in the $1,105,679 top prize and leave Dattani to scoop the $829,142 consolation prize.

The $25,500 buy-in GGSF events have been nothing short of massive so far, paying out no less than $446,446 and as much as the $1,105,679 won by Badziakouski.
There is another $25,500 Super High Roller on April 22, and a final one on April 25. The former has $2.5 million guaranteed with the latter guaranteeing at least $5 million will be won. We cannot wait to see the first place prizes of that pair of events.
