888poker Ambassador Dominik Nitsche Bags Four Big Results

Dominik Nitsche

There is no denying 888poker ambassador Dominik Nitsche is one of the best poker tournament players in the world. You do not get your hands, or should that be wrists, on four World Series of Poker bracelets without knowing your way around a tournament table.

Nitsche may be best known as one of live poker's elite grinders, but he is no slouch in the online poker world either, as evidenced by some of his impressive results on June 13.

The talented German got his Sunday off to a flying start by winning a high-stakes event at his sponsor's site, 888poker. Nitsche was the last man standing in the $50,000 Big Shot $525, which came with a $13,775 top prize. He defeated Russia's "metelindberg" heads-up to lock up the lion's share of the $50,000 prize pool.

Nitsche was also grinding at partypoker, where he was one of 256 players in The Grand, a new addition to partypoker's Sunday schedule. Nitsche navigated his way not only to the final table but to the heads-up stage of the tournament, where he locked horns with Arnaud Enselme.

The difference between first and second place was more than $15,000, yet no deal took place, adding more excitement and drama to the one-on-one encounter. A lack of deal meant Nitsche had to make do with the $35,028 runner-up prize after Enselme got his hands on the German's stack. Enselme padded his bankroll with an impressive $50,183.

A Victory and Another Final table at PokerStars

Nitsche's attention then turned to a pair of PokerStars tournaments, the $215 Fat Sunday and the hyper-turbo charged $1,050 Sunday Supersonic.

He triumphed in the Fat Sunday, an 8-Max Turbo event, and scooped $6,546 for his efforts. The victory was sweet, not least because Nitsche fought against such luminaries as "MAMOHT_T," Marc "Rowniwn" Radgen, and Guntis "poker@luffyD" Aleskins at the final table.

Nitsche's last final table came in the $1,050 Sunday Supersonic, a tournament that attracted a compact crowd of 66 players this week. The tournament only took one minute more than two hours to complete, so it is safe to say the action was fast and furious.

The 888poker ambassador managed to reach the final table and survive a flurry of early all-ins. He eventually ran out of steam in third place, which added $10,339 to his Sunday tally.

Canada's Ryan "Piggysnipz" Pignatelli finished in first place and bagged $23,569 after defeating Anton "Bomber&Granater" Wigg heads-up; Wigg collected $15,610.
