Plexiglass No More: PokerNews’ Room-By-Room Look Into Las Vegas Poker

At the beginning of May, Wynn became the first property to remove Plexiglass dividers from their poker room. Now, on June 1 when they were allowed to return to 100 percent occupancy, most other properties have followed suit
On Tuesday, PokerNews social media manager Jesse Fullen visited nearly every poker room in Las Vegas to whether or not they still had Plexiglass dividers and gauge the current state of affairs.

Below is a room-by-room look at what PokerNews learned on our journey.
Red Rock
The first property PokerNews visited was Red Rock, and they had no Plexiglass dividers at their tables. The room was very busy and has stayed that way all day. They currently have 10 tables running and a list for most games. $1-$2 NLH, $2-$5 NLH, $3-$6 Limit Hold’em, and $4-$8 Limit Hold’em with a $1-$2 kill are currently sat. All tables are sat with a maximum of eight players.
The Orleans
The Orleans Poker Room is hosting cash games and tournaments. Plexiglass has been completely removed.
South Point
Next, we headed to South Point. They currently have 18 tables running plus their daily tournaments. Masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated guests at the South Point. The room was so full and busy when we stopped by. Tables in both cash and tournaments appear to be eight-handed but we have heard of nine-handed tournaments up and down the Strip starting as early as two weeks ago.
MGM Poker Room
Some poker rooms are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays including MGM Poker Room and Planet Hollywood. We didn't make the trek to the latter, but we ran over to MGM. The room was closed but all plexiglass was removed. Based on what we can see here, tables are prepared for eight-handed action when the room reopens on Thursday.
ARIA Poker Room
Aria Poker Room is open 24 hours with no Plexiglass and masks optional for fully vaccinated guests. Daily tournaments are suspended until June 16th.
Bellagio
We stopped by Bellagio Poker Room next. Plexiglass was completely removed and masks were optional for fully vaccinated guests. Daily Tournaments are still on hold at Bellagio but that isn’t stopping the players from stopping by. Bellagio is back to 100% occupancy and currently has 16 games running.
Wynn Poker
Keeping the Uber driver busy, we headed to Wynn next. Plexiglass is long gone and the Wynn Poker Classic is running strong. It was another very busy property with a full tournament area and tons of cash tables running. 18 games are currently running along with the full Wynn Poker Classic schedule.
Sahara Poker Room
Next, we stopped by the poker room at Sahara. Today is their first day with no Plexiglass and tables appear to be eight-handed. The Poker Room at Sahara is running daily tournaments at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. plus their weekly $3k GTD Saturday tournament.
Venetian Poker Room
The Venetian Poker Room, which this week will play host to an MSPT Main Event, is another property that removed all of their plexiglass dividers. Tables appear to be eight-handed for now and 10 cash games are currently running.
Bally's Las Vegas
We headed to Bally's Las Vegas next. All Plexiglass has been removed and masks are not enforced for fully vaccinated guests. Five games are currently running alongside the 5 p.m. daily tournament. Tables appear to be eight-handed.
Westgate Poker Room
We took a break from the strip and headed east to Westgate next. Their room is currently closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All Plexiglass dividers have been removed. When the poker room reopens on Thursday, players will have the additional entertainment from “Super Karaoke” in the Westgate Sports Book just across from the poker room.
Golden Nugget
Our final room before calling it a day was the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas. All Plexiglass has been removed and masks are not enforced for fully vaccinated guests. Five games were running during our visit and tables were eight-handed.
PokerNews did not visit Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Boulder Station, and Santa Fe Station. Even so, it appears poker has essentially returned to pre-pandemic standards.
