PokerNews has been shortlisted in the 'Best Poker Affiliate' award in the 2021 iGB Affiliate Awards,

Already a five-time winner of the Best Poker Affiliate award, this year PokerNews has been shortlisted for this prestigious award alongside three other poker affiliate websites.

This year's ceremony takes place on Thursday, July 15, 2021, where a total of 21 awards will be given out.

Head of PokerNews Mark Powell-Bevan said that a lot of effort went into the entry, and said he was honoured that the site had been recognised.

"It’s an honour and privilege to be shortlisted for this award," said Powell-Bevan. "It serves as recognition for all the hard work the PokerNews team have put in over the last 12 months in what have been very challenging circumstances around the globe."

PokerNews Senior Commercial Manager Ben Cundall was equally proud of the achievement and to be shortlisted alongside some equally great poker websites.

"I'm delighted that PokerNews has been shortlisted for Best Poker Affiliate after such a huge year for online poker," said Cundall. "We've worked hard on strengthening our ties with key partners, including some of the largest online poker websites in the world."

PokerNews in 2020

Over the past year, PokerNews has worked closely with sites including GGPoker, PokerStars and partypoker to increase growth and drive poker traffic. These strengthened relationships have been pivotal as COVID-19 and regulatory changes have altered normal working practices.

For years, PokerNews has consistently been an industry leader in poker tournament live reporting, and pivoted well to the online live reporting that dominated 2020, including the World Series of Poker and European Poker Tour (EPT) Online.

All entries into the 2021 iGB Affiliate Awards were accessed by a panel that included by iGB Editorial Director Stephen Carter and iGB News Editor Robin Harrison-Millan.

Best Poker Affiliate entries were judged on their ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Improvements in UX and conversion rates
  • Innovation in the tactics, products and services used to acquire and drive poker traffic
