Kornuth Wins Wynn Summer Classic $3,500 NLH for $353,891; Glaser & Levy Nabs Titles

2021 Wynn Summer Classic winners

The 2021 Wynn Summer Classic, which began on May 27 and ran through July 13, was comprised of more than 30 events that offered over $16 million in guarantees. That included the highly successful $10,000 buy-in, $10,000,000 GTD Wynn Millions won by Andrew Moreno for $1.4 million and the $1,600 buy-in, $1.5 million GTD Mystery Bounty won by Uri Reichenstein.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better Summer Classic, and I certainly didn’t anticipate the fanfare created by the one-two punch of the Wynn Millions and Mystery Bounty,” Wynn Director of Poker Operations Ryan Beauregard told PokerNews. “It was fun to showcase the Wynn poker brand to such a large audience, and I’m confident that the Wynn Millions has a bright future.”

Midway through the series, PokerNews brought you a recap highlighting side event wins by Jonathan Tamayo, Spencer Champlin, and Camille Brown. Now, we take a look at some of the winners in the closing half of the recently completed Wynn Summer Classic.

The last big tournament of the 2021 Wynn Summer Classic was the $3,500 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD No-Limit Hold’em tournament, which attracted 530 runners and offered up a $1,711,900 prize pool.

The top 53 players made the money including Tomas Soderstrom (10th - $29,787), Joey Weissman (12th - $25,593), Alex Rocha (14th - $22,135), Thomas Boivin (20th - $16,737), Kristen Bicknell (25th - $12,733), former Wynn Winter Classic champ Michael Rocco (27th - $12,733), Ryan Laplante (37th - $9,712), Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi (38th - $9,712), and Nate Silver (40th - $9,712).

The final table was a stacked affair that included Justin Saliba, who recently captured his first WSOP gold bracelet, WPT champ Bobby Oboodi, and reigning WPT Player of the Year Brian Altman. However, it was a familiar face coming out on top as poker pro Chance Kornuth, who back in June won the MSPT Venetian for $412,086, laid claim to the title and $353,891 first-place prize.
