2021 WSOP Day 3: Drinan On Course For His Second Bracelet
Day 3 of the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, saw the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino full to bursting with four action-packed events taking place.
Jesse Klein caused a major upset in Event #2: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E, defeating the likes of Phil Hellmuth and Benny Glaser to become the tournament’s champion and to collect the $552,182 top prize.
Meanwhile, Event #5: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo whittled its field down to the final 15 players, Day 1b of Event #4: $500 The Reunion No-Limit Hold’em saw a runaway chip leader, and Event #6: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed got off to a flying start.

Drinan Leads From Mizrachi in the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo Event
Connor Drinan is the man to catch in Event #5: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo where only 15 players remain in the hunt for the $163,252 and the all-important WSOP bracelet.
Drinan, who won an online bracelet at GGPoker in 2020, returns to the fray armed with 2,415,000 chips, over one million more than the dangerous Robert Mizrachi in second place. Drinan came close to winning the pot-limit edition of this event in 2015, but had to make do with a fourth-place finish.
Mizrachi is the proud owner of four gold WSOP bracelets, including one from winning this very event in 2015. Should Mizrachi come out on top on October 3, he would join likes of John Juanda, Scotty Nguyen, the late Stu Ungar, and Jason Mercier in the five-time champion club. Perhaps more importantly, victory would tie him with his brother, Michael!

Robert Brobyn Bags up a Huge Stack on Day 1b of The Reunion
Day 1b of The Reunion saw 4,459 player pack into the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, eclipsing the 2,649-strong Day 1a field. Only 204 of those starters made it through to Day 2, and nobody bagged up more chips than Robert Brobyn; that includes on Day 1a, too.
Brobyn kept tabs on the chip leaders towards the end of the flight, but two key hands played out that saw him soar past five million chips. He increased his stack to 2,700,000 when his pocket queens busted an opponent holding jacks, before spiking an ace on the flop with ace-king against pocket kings, to climb past five million.

A handful of former WSOP bracelet winners punched their Day 2 tickets at the first time of asking. John Gorsuch bagged up 2,220,000 chips, enough for 11th place on this flight. Other luminaries, including Ronnie Bardah (2,005,000), Jeremy Wien (1,640,000), and Barry Greenstein (745,000) also made the most of the $500 bullet.

Daniels Claims $25,000 High Roller Day 1 Chip Lead
The first No-Limit Hold’em High Roller event shuffled up and dealt on October 2. Event #6 commanded a $25,000 buy-in, a sum 135 of the world’s best and most easily recognized poker players paid.
Jake Daniels claimed a pair of major scalps on his way to securing the Day 1 chip lead. He sent Eric Worre home earlier than Worre would have liked, before busting Daniel Negreanu with king-jack versus Negreanu’s jacks during the last level of the evening. Negreanu re-entered and finished the night with 101,000 chips.
The overnight chip counts read like a who’s who of the poker world. Michael Liang (1,028,000) was the only other player to cram a seven-figure stack into their overnight chip bag. Others safely through to October 3’s Day 2 include James Chen (835,000), Jake Schindler (667,000), Chance Kornuth (570,000), four-time bracelet winner Brian Rast (551,000), nine-time champion Erik Seidel (512,000), Adrian Mateos (466,000), and former WSOP Main Event champion Joe McKeehen (208,600)

What’s In Store For Day 4 of the 2021 WSOP?
October 3 is Day 4 of the 2021 World Series of Poker and while Sunday is seen as a day of rest for millions of people around the globe, there will be no chilling out in Las Vegas. That is because Day 1c of The Reunion kicks off at 10:00 a.m. before the final day of the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo and Day 2 of the $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller take place. In addition, the $1,500 Dealers Choice 6-handed shuffles up at 3:00 p.m. before the first two of 11 recently added online bracelet events cap off a super Sunday schedule.
