A bumper crowd of 1,249 entrants created a $1,249,000 prize pool, smashing the $1 million guarantee. Half that princely sum went onto the heads of each player, with the remaining 50% shared among the top 185 finishers who had made it to Day 2.

Dozens of household names reached Day 2 but failed in their quest to find a seat at the eight-handed final table. They included Andrew Hulme, Joakim Andersson, Thomas Muehloecker, Dimitar Danchev, Samuel Vousden, Anton Wigg, Yuri Dzivielevski, Gianluca Speranza, Jaime Staples, and David Yan.

The eight-handed final table initially progressed at a lightning pace, with short-stack Boris Angelov running his pocket kings into the aces of Christopher Frank. Denmark's Patrick Hyllegaard followed suit when he committed his last 14 big blinds with a pair of nines in the hole only to run into the pocket jacks of Boianovsky. Surprisingly, that was Boianovsky's first bounty of the tournament!

Team partypoker's Patrick Leonard added the bounty of Matthias Lipp to his collection in a relative cooler of a hand. Leonard raise-called with ace-king after Lipp three-bet all-in with the dominated ace-queen.

The final five became four when Leonard bowed out at the hands of Boianovsky. Leonard three-bet Boianovsky's 17,500,000 opening raise to 45,000,000 before calling off the 181,326,294 chips he had behind. Boianovsky looked in big trouble, his pocket deuces trailing Leonard's superior jacks. However, the hot-running Brazilian spiked a set on the flop and Leonard could not find a miracle two outer on the turn or river.

That hand put the ball firmly in Boianovsky's court and he went into the heads-up battle with Ignas Vitulionis with a three-to-one chip lead after Akseli Paalanen busted in fourth and Boianovsky eliminated Frank in third. Frank made a bizarre – the words of the partypoker Twitch commentary team, not ours — call for his stack with ace-king on a ten-eight-jack-seven-eight rainbow board only to be shown a straight by Boianovsky.

The tournament was Boianovsky's to lose but he did not do that because the final hand saw him jam with queen-six of diamonds, and Vitulionis call off his last 13 big blinds with pocket tens. A queen on the flop and a six on the river were more than enough to bust Vitulionis in second place, a finish worth $89,199, and crown Boianovsky the MILLIONS Online KO Edition Main Event champion.
