Day 1c of the 2019 Borgata Poker Open (BPO) Event #10: $400 Almighty Stack drew 402 runners, which means along with Flight A's 346 and B's 177 the total field stands at 925 with three more flights to go.

After 17 levels of play, approximately 100 remained with John Michalak and his stack of 1.556 million leading the way. That is just behind Day 1b chip leader Sridhar Sangannagari (1,570,000) but just ahead of Day 1a leader Spencer Champlin (1,547,000).

Others to bag big stacks were Jingzhe Cao (1,367,000), Catherine Dever (923,000), Adam Pease (754,000), and Eric Hayes (721,000).

They were joined by Jackie Scott (645,000), Chris Conrad (428,000), 13-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Maurice Hawkins (415,000), bracelet winner Jessica Dawley (352,000), $230 Deeper Stack champ Steve Nooralian (337,000), and Stanley Lee (275,000).

Flight D of the tournament is happening now and you can follow updates for that right here. The final two flights – Day 1e and 1f – will take place on Thursday and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. Once again PokerNews will be on hand to capture all the action.

The tournament staff just announced the remaining players will play three more hands before bagging and tagging on the Day 1c flight. Stay tuned for some chip counts and a short recap of today's action.

Yi Claims Larger Side Pot

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Yi Wei

An extremely short-stacked player got his last 5,000 all in preflop from early position and Yi Wei moved all in over the top next to act. Action folded around to the player in the big blind you called off for 53,000.

Wei: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Big Blind: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Short Stack: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Wei had the best of it but the short stack took the lead on the {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop. The {k-Diamonds} turn paired Wei but also meant a queen would give the big blind Broadway.

The dealer burned one last time and put out the {j-Clubs}. The short stack tripled up with two pair while Wei took down the much larger side pot.

"Flamingo" Lane Takes from Hawkins

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jon Lane
Jon Lane

Maurice Hawkins, a 13-time WSOP Circuit ring winner, raised the hijack to 21,000 and Jon Lane, who is decked out in a flamingo shirt, defended his big blind to see a {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop.

Lane check and Hawkins continued for 28,000. Lane thought long and hard before making the call and the {2-Hearts} peeled off on the turn.

Lane shifted gears by moving all in and Hawkins snap-folded his hand.

Lane then flashed a smile as well as the {a-Spades}.

Goldberg Sends Opponent to the Rail

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Mike Goldberg
Mike Goldberg

A player in early position moved all in for 95,500 and Mike Goldberg responded by jamming over the top for around 120,000 from the hijack. Everyone else got out of the way and the hands were turned up.

Goldberg: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop paired the at-risk player but Goldberg's kings were still out in front. Neither the {4-Clubs} turn nor {3-Hearts} river changed a thing and Goldberg scored the knockout.
