The first day of the 2018 Cash Game Festival Tallinn at Olympic Park Casino in the Estonian capital has been a huge success both on and away from the felt.

Many players from past festivals came from near and far to take part in the opening day and to meet up with their poker friends. In addition, many new players including those from online partners 32Red, Betsafe, OlyBet, and Unibet, came to see first hand what all the buzz is about.

The festival officially kicked off at 5 p.m. EEST with welcome drinks featuring a unique blue chardonnay from Marques De Alcantara in Spain. The wine gets its deep blue color from dark grape shells.

Shortly after, the first televised feature table kicked off with stakes at €2/€2 no-limit hold'em. Finland's Arttu Iisakka had an early lead at the table, however, after the final hands took place it was Ryan "Metalface" Davey who won the most after booking a profit of €278 or 139 big blinds.

Davey, who in the past has commentated the Cash Game Festival feature table, shared after the early session that, "The win will at least pay for my next buy-in."

The stakes increased to €2/€5 and played even bigger with players agreeing to a mandatory €10 straddle for the later televised feature table. The lineup featured two former Cash Game Festival trophy winners in Jon Kyte (London - September 2017) and Kevin Malone (Dublin - October 2017). A trophy is given away at the Cash Game Festival for the player that has won the most big blinds on any of the 10 feature tables during a festival.

Kyte started off hot with a quick double-up in a pot worth €2,000 when his ace-queen nailed top two pair against Karol Masovic's lower two pair with ace-jack.

However, by the time the cameras were turned off, it was another well-known cash game player in Unibet Ambassador Espen Uhlen Jørstad winning the most amount of money with a profit of with €1,072 in profit or 214.4 big blinds.

Jørstad agreed to an interview on Facebook Live later in the festival with his two housemates, Unibet Ambassador Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen and Rauno Kiviloo. Both Rauno's were in attendance today and the trio of players are all involved in a popular vlog titled One Year One Million where they are attempted to earn at least €1 million in a year in poker and cryptocurrency.

As will be the case every day during the festival, live streaming for tomorrow is scheduled at lower stakes at 6:00 p.m. EEST and higher stakes at 9:00 p.m. EEST. You can check out all of the action at the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel and under the Live Stream tab in our coverage.

Stay tuned at PokerNews as the festival has just begun and will continue to grow as the weekend approaches.

Two Drawings to CGF Sunny Beach August 8-12

Players will earn a ticket to two drawings for every hour they are playing at a cash game table during the Cash Game Festival.

The first raffle drawing will take place on Friday, April 27 at 6 p.m. EEST where one lucky player will be heading to the next Cash Game Festival at Platinum Casino in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria on August 8-12 with an amazing package valued at €1,500.

The second and final raffle will take place on Sunday, April 29 at 9 p.m. EEST where at least one more player will be awarded a Cash Game Festival Bulgaria package.

The Cash Game Festival has already visited Platinum Casino twice in the past and has been a raving success among players that have attended for great poker action and the fact that the casino is located steps from the beach.

Peter La Terra has perhaps been to more Cash Game Festivals than any other player. We were convinced that he wasn't going to miss this one as he won a full package valued at €1,500 as part of a high hand promotion during the last festival.

We didn't have to wait long as La Terra is already at the casino and playing at the €2/€2 pot-limit Omaha table. He is an avid lover of Sviten Special, which we no doubt see multiple tables of throughout the festival.

Early Double for Jon Kyte

Jon Kyte has already doubled up his stack on the €2/€5 no-limit hold'em televised table that features a €10 straddle.

Karol Masarovic opened to €30 with {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} before he called a three-bet to €85 from Kyte, who held {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

Both players checked the {J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop but the action got bigger after the {A-Diamonds} appeared on the turn to give both players two pair. Masarovic checked before he called a bet of €155 from Kyte.

The {2-Spades} completed the board on the river. Masarovic checked before Kyte jammed for €690. Masarovic called and Kyte won a huge €2,000 pot.

Unibet Poker Ambassador Espen Uhlen Jørstad Headlines Late Feature Table

Espen Uhlen Jørstad
Espen Uhlen Jørstad

Unibet Poker Ambassador Espen Uhlen Jørstad is known to play cash games on his personal Twitch stream. We will now see how Uhlen performs from Seat 6 against a tough table that includes two Cash Game Festival trophy winners Jon Kyte and Kevin Malone in a €2/€5 no-limit hold'em feature table with a mandatory €10 straddle.

In addition to his Twitch stream, the Unibet Poker Ambassador has been busy lately promoting a poker project with his two roommates where the three of them are attempting to profit €1 million in poker and cryptocurrency in one year in a vlog aptly titled One Year One Million.

You can check out the action at the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel. You can alternatively follow the action by clicking on the Live Stream tab in our PokerNews coverage. Here is a look at the rest of the lineup.

Local Estonian player Rauno Tipner was at the previous Cash Game Festival Tallinn in November and is making his return this festival in Seat 1. Tipner has been playing poker since 2010 and his favorite hand is {A-}{A-}.

Karen Muir, in Seat 2, traveled to Tallinn from Dublin with Kevin Malone who is in Seat 5. Time will tell which of the two players do better during today's late session.

Norway's Kayhan Mokri, in Seat 3, could be a player to keep our eyes on. He has been playing poker for just three years but already considers himself to be a pro. Like Tipner, his favorite hold'em hand is {A-}{A-}.

United Kingdom's Eddie Anderson, in Seat 4, is also a newcomer to the game of poker and also considers himself to be a poker pro. He isn't new to playing under the lights and cameras and was previously at a feature during the Cash Game Festival London in September.

Slovakia's Karol Masarovic, in Seat 7, is the only player thus far to appear at both feature tables. His first Cash Game Festival appearance came earlier in the month in Bratislava.

Last, but certainly not least, is Norway's Jon Kyte in Seat 8. For the past year and a half Kyte has been crushing anything that involves cards whether it be cash games or tournaments. Like Cash Game Festival Co-Founder Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk and tablemate Kevin Malone, he is hungry to be the first players to win Cash Game Festival trophies at two separate festivals.
