Day 1b Started

PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final, Day 1b

Welcome back to Monaco for Day 1b of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final. Yesterday we welcomed 271 players, today that number will a lot, lot more.

Some of the marquee names appearing are TeamPokers Stars Pros Viktor Blom, Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Lex Veldhuis. Boris Becker and Fatima Moreira de Melo will be here representing Team PokerStars SportStar, and they’ll have to mix it up with the likes of Justin “Super high-roller champion” Bonomo, Gus Hansen, and last season’s champion Ivan Freitez.

Play is due to begin at 12pm CET but we expect play to start a little due to the expected large number of runners. The plan is the same as yesterday: eight one-hour levels that will take us to a finish time somewhere between 9-9.30pm. Join us back here soon for a packed day full of poker action.

The Rules of Day 1b

We are going to play eight levels of 60-minutes without a dinner break. Here is the timetable.

Dion Keeps Betting

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

From under the gun, Yann Dion raised to 300. Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis made the call from the next seat and Michel Carvin called from the button, creating a three-way pot to the flop.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Dion fired a continuation bet of 475. Veldhuis folded and Carvin made the call. That brought the players to the {10-Hearts} turn and Dion continued for 775. Carvin gave it up and Dion won the pot.
