Igor Kurganov - 12th Place

Ronny Voth opened to 16,000 from under the gun, Igor Kurganov called in the cutoff, and Jan-Peter Jachtmann defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, Jachtmann checked, and Voth continued for 21,000. only Kurganov called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, Voth led out for 80,000, and Kurganov made the call.

The {9-Clubs} completed the board, Voth led again - this time for 145,000 - and Kurganov went deep into the tank. He started talking to himself, or perhaps it was the dealer, and then he finally called.

"Set," Voth said excitedly, showing {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Kurganov mucked his hand, and Voth let out a long sigh of relief.

The next hand, Kurganov opened to 16,000, Max Lykov called on the button, and Voth defended his big blind. The flop fell {6-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}, Voth checked, and Kurganov fired 35,000. Only Lykov called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, Kurganov moved all in, and Lykov snap-called.

Lykov: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Kurganov: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Kurganov urged the dealer to pair the board, but the {4-Clubs} on the river was a brick, and he was eliminated in 12th place.
