Day 2 Started

The Quoss vs. Schemion Match Resumes at 9!

The €50,000 Single-Day Super High Roller of the 2016 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final festival yesterday ended up not being as single-day as imagined. After a 17 hour poker day, the 70-entry field was down to just 2 players. They couldn't finish it in time however, and at 5:30 in the morning it was decided to come back the next day.

That day is today, and at 9pm (in 2 hours) the €50,000 Super High Roller tournament will resume with two well rested players. No deal has been made, so the €220,100 difference between 2nd (€713,100) and first (€933,200) is still all on the line between German high rollers Fabian Quoss and Ole Schemion.

PokerNews.com will bring you live coverage of the heads up between the two greats, with the situation looking as followed:

First Hand to Schemion

Level 27 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

Fabian Quoss started on the button and raised to 600,000. Ole Schemion carefully cut out 1,550,000 and pushed his three bet forward. Quote thought about it for a bit before calling.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Schemion bet 525,000. Quoss folded after about a minute in the tank.

Quoss Shoves Twice

Level 27 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

In the second hand after restart, Ole Schemion limped in and Fabian Quoss stared back before announcing his all in. Schemion quickly folded.

The next hand saw a walk for Schemion in the big blind before he limped in and then folded to another shove of Quoss. Another walk was followed by Schemion's third limp in a row and this time Quoss checked his option in the big blind.

On the {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, both players checked and Quoss then min-bet the {3-Diamonds} turn for 300,000. Schemion called to see the {J-Hearts} river, where Quoss won the pot without showdown by betting 500,000.

Quoss Doubles Up in Last Hand of the Level

Level 27 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

Fabian Quoss limped in from the button for 300,000, and Ole Schemion asked for a count. Quoss counted out his stack (3,560,000) and Schemion pushed all in. Quoss called instantly.

Fabian Quoss: {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Ole Schemion: {K-Spades}{3-Spades}

The flop came {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, pairing Quoss. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn left Schemion some outs, but despite pairing him, the {K-Hearts} on the river wasn't one of the cards he needed to hit. Quoss doubled into the lead.

Quoss Increases Lead

Level 28 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Ole Schemion limped in and the flop came {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Fabian Quoss bet 400,000 and Schemion then raised to 1,175,000.

Quoss called before both checked down the {10-Clubs} turn and the {K-Spades} to see Schemion turn over {9-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a bluff. Quoss flipped over {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and that won the pot.

Ole Schemion Eliminated in 2nd Place (€857,241)

Level 28 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Ole Schemion on the button open shoved his last 4.8 million to the middle from the button. Fabian Quoss glanced at his cards, and was as sure as he could be he wanted to call. Schemion knew he was behind right away.

Fabian Quoss: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Ole Schemion: {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The flop came {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, just about sealing it for Quoss. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn did just that and the two German high rollers shook hands and hugged, while the dealer burned and put the {3-Spades} on the river.

While finishing runner up, Ole Schemion wins more money for his second place (€857,241) than champion Fabian Quoss (€849,059).
