€5,300 EPT Prague Main Event
Day 1b Started
The second flight of the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event, at the Hilton Hotel in Prague, will kick off at noon today and is the final EPT Main Event Day 1 of 2022.
Day 1a saw a total of 402 players whittled down to 124 after ten hours of play with some notable names finding bags. Spain's Javier Gomez Zapater leads the pack, bagging up an impressive 341,000 chips to take into battle on Day 2 and is closely followed in the counts by another Spaniard, PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas who is the only other stack over 300,000.
The top ten is a who's who of poker alumni and features two players that went agonisingly close at the last EPT stop in London only a few months ago.
Frenchman Julien Sitbon placed 23rd in EPT London and sits fifth on the leaderboard after the first day's play. Another player looking to go one better than London is Conor Beresford from the United Kingdom. Beresford had an impressive haul in London finishing second in the UKIPT £2,200 High Roller for £145,120 and 31st in the EPT London £5,300 Main Event for £17,050 and sits ninth in chips after Day 1a.
All participants receive 30,000 in chips and will aim to make it through the entire ten levels of 60 minutes each. There is a scheduled 15-minute break every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6. The late registration period for the 2022 EPT Prague €5,300 Main Event remains open until the start of Day 2 on December 14, 2022, and a maximum of two entries per player are allowed.
Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team brings you all the updates throughout the Main Event and festival from a very snowy Prague.
