Welcome to the Final Table!
Welcome to the final table of the 2012 PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour Grand Final. The stage is set here in São Paulo, Brazil for the remaining eight competitors to battle it out for the title and the R$324,600 first-place prize.
Leading the way is German Daniele Nestola with 1.892 million in chips. He's got a pretty big lead on the rest of the pack, with around 600,000 chips more than his next closest competitor, Carlos Ibarra.
The big story here at the final table is none other than Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, who has maneuvered his way into the final day with 702,000 in chips. He sits fifth overall and has become the only player in poker history to land final tables on all three of the big PokerStars-sponsored tours — the APPT, the LAPT and the EPT.
Also at the final table are Gasperino Nicolas, Jonathan Markovits, Juan Gonzalez, Felipe Morbiducci and Vitor Torres. The eight finalists are representing seven different countries, stretched across three separate continents. Below is a look at the seating assignments and how they stack up.

Nestola Puts Big Pressure On Nicolas Right Away
On the first hand of the final table, Daniele Nestola raised under the gun to 55,000 and Gasperino Nicolas called from middle position. Everyone else folded preflop and the dealer spread the 
. Nestola fired a continuation bet of 72,000 and Nicolas fired back with a raise to 212,000. Not about to back down, Nestola reraised all in, covering Nicolas' remaining 920,000. After a couple minutes of though, Nicolas folded the 
and Nestola won the pot.

Juan Gonzalez Eliminated in 8th Place (R$26,340)
From the cutoff seat, Jonathan Markovits raised to 54,000 after action folded to him preflop. Carlos Ibarra was on the button and flat-called before play fell on chip leader Daniele Nestola in the small blind. Nestola opted to reraise and made it 148,000 to go.
In the big blind, Juan Gonzalez began to tank. After a minute or so, he shoved all in for 549,000. Markovits folded his hand and Ibarra leaned back in his chair, running his hands through his hair as though he had a tough decision. After a minute or so, he flipped a chip up in the air to simulate a coin flip, laughed and folded his hand.
Action then fell back on Nestola. He stood up from his seat and asked the dealer to pull in the 148,000 from each stack. A minute passed before he said, "I think I have to call, but I'm not sure." He went to hint at all the money in the pot and commented about how he's either flipping or crushed in a big way. Eventually, he called.

"What the heck is going on?!?!" exclaimed Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, who was just an innocent bystander to all of this action. "Welcome to Brasil!" he laughed.
Markovits commented, "It's such a good three-bet spot and a good four-bet spot," looking at Negreanu.
The flop came down 
and Nestola had flopped a set. Still, Gonzalez could hit runner-runner straight to win the hand and we've seen this exact situation result in that several times this tournament.
The turn was the 
and that officially ended things for Gonzalez. The river landed with the 
and gave Nestola unneeded quads.
Gonzalez exited in eighth place and earned R$26,340. Nestola moved to 2.9 million in chips and has a million more than anyone else.

Vitor Torres Eliminated in 7th Place (R$35,560)
Action moved to short stack Vitor Torres in the cutoff seat and he raised all in for 245,000. On the button, Felipe Morbiducci reraised all in for a little over 300,000. Everyone else folded and the cards were on their backs.
Torres tabled the 
and was up against the for Morbiducci.
The flop sealed nearly all the hope Torres had of staying alive when it came down 
to give Morbiducci a full house. Torres was now looking for running aces or running deuces.
