Day 1b Completed

Closing Time

Another day is in the books here at the 2010 PokerStars.net PCA Main Event and 846 more players swept through the Atlantis' Imperial Ballroom for eight levels of poker fun.

The unofficial two-day player total (based on the numbers they've been displaying up on the big screens) is 1,515, which smashes last year's total of 1,347. Official numbers should be released overnight.

Anibal Tacla, by our counts, is your unofficial overnight chip leader with right around 166,000 in chips, though several players hovered around the 150,000 mark at night's end. Also near the top of the leaderboard are Paul Wasicka, Annette Obrestad, Matt Graham, Daryll Fish and Phil Ivey.

Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Rousso, Peter Eastgate and JC Alvarado all had good days on the felt and will return tomorrow for Day 2 player. Teammates Pieter de Korver, Boris Becker, Arnaud Mattern and Lex Veldhuis weren't as lucky, as all four joined the rail at various times throughout the day.

Day 2 is up next. Tune in tomorrow at 12:00 noon EST when our coverage of the 2010 PCA Main Event continues...

Until then, from the Imperial Ballroom in Atlantis... good night and good luck!

Big Stacks

It looks like Paul Wasicka is currently leading the field here on Day 1b of play. Wasicka's got about 155,000 in chips. Matt Graham is around 140,000 and Daryll Fish is sitting on 118,000. All of those figures are far smaller than what Wayne Bentley bagged up last night with well over 300,000.

The Prince Moves Back Up

From the hijack seat, Scotty Nguyen raised to 2,600 before the button reraised to 7,000. Nguyen made the call and the two players would be heads up to the flop.

The flop came down {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} {9-Hearts} and Nguyen checked. His opponent bet 7,000 and Nguyen called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and both players checked. The river added the {J-Diamonds} to the board and both players checked again. Nguyen turned over {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} to best his opponent's {K-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} and scoop the pot. He's now back over 60,000.

Klodnicki Klobbered

On the turn, the board read {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {5-Hearts} {J-Spades}. Chris Klodnicki was facing a bet of 12,000 from his opponent as all the tables in the room went to break. A few minutes went by and then Klodnicki shoved all in. He was met by a snap call from his opponent, who tabled {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for a straight. Klodnicki held a set of fives.

The river completed the board with the {3-Hearts} and Klodnicki was sent to the rail.
