Satoshi Tanaka Bags Chip Lead Among Day 1b Survivors
On Friday, a new mid-major poker tour officially launched with the inaugural Midway Poker Tour stop in the Chicagoland area. The second of two starting flights in the $1,100 buy-in, $100K GTD Main Event attracted 164 entries. At the end of the night, 19 remained led by Satoshi Tanaka and his stack of 710,000. This brings the total entries to 266 with 31 advancing to Day 2.
In addition to Tanaka, the other top five stacks include Amanda Heidbrick (446,000), Adam Thomas (377,000), Praise Ogwo (355,000), and Benjamin Craig (334,000).
The remaining 31 players advancing to Day 2 are in already in the money with a guaranteed payout of $2,300 and a top prize of $55,060.
Among those unable to advance from Day 1b were Howard Hankin, Bryan Skreens, Ryan Phan, Brian Barros, Ben Keeline, and Griff Woodman.
