Calen “Big Wheel” McNeil Wins Event #23: $200 Night H.O.R.S.E.
Mixed games are quite popular at the Golden Nugget during the Grand Poker Series, and there’s a full offering on the schedule. Case in point was Event #23: $200 Night H.O.R.S.E. $5K GTD, a tournament that attracted 59 runners and offered up an $8,850 prize pool.
That was paid out to the final table of eight players with the final three opting to work a deal. Coming out on top and finishing as the winner of the tournament for $2,068 was Canada’s Calen “Big Wheel” McNeil.
McNeil, who learned to play poker online while in college, is perhaps best known in the poker world for topping a massive 1,014-player field to win the 2013 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #20: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better for $277,274 and a gold bracelet.
Clearly mixed games are in the wheelhouse of “Big Wheel.”
