Rao Sends Lapka Deep Into the Tank
Action was picked up on the turn as the board read with a big pot of about 270,000 in the middle.
Preflop action was retold by a tablemate while the two players contested the hand. Justin Lapka had raised to 13,000 from middle position, Aditya Rao made it 33,000 from the cutoff. Lapka then four-bet to 80,000 and Rao called. There was a bet and call on the flop to swell the pot a bit more.
Back to the turn, both players checked to the river which was the . Lapka pushed forward too stacks for a bet of 175,000. Rao jammed all in for what was counted to be 249,000.
Lapka was openly frizzled. "Are you really gonna bluff me with just 70,000 left? On the bubble" he said, while the rest of the field was preparing to enter hand-for-hand play. Rao sat motionless. Lapka continued to talk it out. "You checked back the turn also... what the ****?" He took several more moments as players from other tables started to watch the developing huge hand with ramifications for the whole field.
Finally after multiple minutes Lapka folded, showing the face up. Rao gave away nothing and pulled in what was one of the biggest pots of the day.
