Another big night of big bounties was on tap for Michigan natives and visitors, as the 2021 PokerStars Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker saw Event-33-H: $500 NLHE (8-Max, Progressive KO, High Roller) blow past the advertised guarantee, giving the 104-entrant field a $48,880 prize pool to shoot at between bounties and the tournament prize pool.
In a unique end to the tournament, "mariopartypoker" earned the victory after being pitted heads-up against "nurtureisnature", who had disconnected from the tournament near the end of three handed play. With a $3,719.58 bounty on "nurtureisnature", "mariopartypoker" decided to take no chances and quickly ground down the 53 big blind stack of "nurtureisnature" to the felt in a ten-minute span.
For their victory, "mariopartypoker" earned $4,920.20 from the tournament prize pool, as well as all the bounties they accrued through the tournament and their own bounty, which totaled $6,921.45. All told, "mariopartypoker", who fired two bullets in today's tournament, walked away with a total cash of $11,841.65.

Action of the Day
"PimpMyBalance" started the day off red hot, earning $705 in bounties in a hurry, but things quickly went sour, and they busted not only that bullet, but a second bullet shy of the money. "USADave2015" found themselves one spot shy of a cash as the bubble, and from there, "santasworkshop", "barry20sanders", "Magicpen15", "248donkey", "Yerfdog3665", and "gut€nberg" all finished in the money before the final table of nine was reached.
Two short stacks were the first to bust at the final table, as "CashoutCurt87" and "db aka birdz" fell in ninth and eigth, respectively. "Pennies777" was next to go, losing a classic flip to "Hail-6404" in brutal fashion, when "Pennies777" flopped a king with their Big Slick, but "Hail-6404" turned a queen with their pocket queens to leave "Pennies777" drawing dead before the river fell.
"Prince0114" lost a flip a few moments later to bust in sixth, then "Hail-6404" jammed jacks right into the aces of "nurtureisnature" to fall in fifth. "nurtureisnature", who held the chip lead for most of the final table, also busted "rebuy1000" in fourth, but then had connection issues and began to sit out. "mariopartypoker" took full advantage, winning a flip to knock "aardvark555" out in third, then blinding "nurtureisnature" out in rapid fashion to secure the victory.

"nurtureisnature" never returned from their disconnection, and "mariopartypoker" simply blinded "nurtureisnature" down to dust in a few minutes after the break ended, giving "mariopartypoker" the win by default.
