The Final Starting Flight for the RGPS Downstream Main Event Bags, 70 Return for Day 2 Sunday (full)

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jared Ward
Jared Ward

The RunGood Poker Series main event at the Downstream Casino drew 383 total entries and a prizepool of almost $200,000. The action started Friday at 7 p.m. and continued with two more starting flights on Saturday.

Jared Ward is the overall chip leader and will lead the 70 players with 368,000 into Day 2 Sunday at noon.

Several of the RGPS regulars came through Downstream Casino throughout the weekend, including the defending main event champion Greg Jennings. He was eliminated in the final two hours of play on Day 1c.

Sam Washburn, the current leader of the casino champion race, was also eliminated late in Day 1c. He has set himself up with a good lead, but Jacob Seale is certainly within striking distance and has a formidable stack heading into Day 2.

The top 45 players in the main event will make at least a min-cash of $1,053.

There were some heavy hitters that came out for the main event that didn't find a bag for Day 2. Most notably, Dan Lowery. Jennings, Lowery, Jon Bennett, Washburn, Jeff Tebben, Shaun Roberts, and Norm Glueckert all fell short.

The field is still stacked and will certainly make for a fun Sunday. PokerNews.com will be here throughout the weekend as the RGPS Downstream comes to a close and the newest All-Stars season main event champion is crowned.

Joe Walters

Joe Walters came out to the RunGood Poker Series event at Jamul Casino in San Diego last week for the RGPS's first west coast stop. He took down the main event for $31,280 and booked his seat in the end-of-season All-Stars event at the PokerGO studio.

Now, a little closer to his home in Missouri, Walters is in the field for Day 1c at Downstream Casino's main event to try and make it two in a row.

Walters has $187,779 in career tournament winnings and was just his third tournament win.

He had two top-four finishes in RGPS main events before his win in San Diego.

Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings made it to the last RGPS at Downstream Casino just in time for Day 1c and went on to win the main event for $38,179.

After a week of play and two main event flights, we have our first Jennings sighting today at the start of Day 1c. Jennings, who has just under $800,000 in career tournament winnings, topped a field of 332 players in October and won just his third event ever.

Jennings had five previous final table appearances in RGPS events before finally taking the top spot.

Teresa Griffith Finding the New Normal

Teresa Griffith
Teresa Griffith

Teresa Griffith is playing poker for the first time in years. She stopped playing for a while and has returned in search of what she called the '"new normal."

Griffith is from Eureka Springs, AR.

Her husband passed away a few years ago and she says that is why she's started playing poker again.

Griffith says she forgot how much she enjoyed it and, if it were up to her, she'd play all the time.

When she's not playing she's selling things on Amazon.

This is her second bullet in the RGPS main event.

She won her first seat in a satellite, so she's playing for a discount at the moment. She's off to a good start today with almost three times starting stack.
