Artur "marathur1" Martirosyan Leads Final 11

Day 1 of Event #17-H: $10,300 NLHE High Roller of the 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) has come to an end after six hours of play. In total, there were 124 entries on Day 1 but only 11 of them found a bag for Day 2.

Plenty of big names took a shot at this event but it is Artur "mararthur1" Martirosyan who closed it out on the top of the chip counts with a stack of 2,281,541. The Russian had a rough start to the day but he managed to turn things around at his third bullet, steadily climbing up and eventually taking over the chip lead. Once the late registration closed, he was responsible for multiple eliminations including the one of Yuri "theNERDguy" Martins when he flopped an ace with ace-queen suited against Martins’ jacks in an all-in preflop situation to further extend his lead.

Martirosyan is followed by Jorryt "TheCleaner11" van Hoof with 1,481,498. Just a couple of days ago, van Hoof took down the SCOOP title of Event-02-H: $2,100 NLHE after outlasting 575 entries. The Dutchman poker professional who promised to stick around for more high stakes action after his victory, did just so, and is in good shape to collect a second SCOOP title this series.

The stakes will be high tomorrow as many other champions will be in search of more glory including Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz (1,250,177), Rui “RuiNF” Ferreira, (1,138,918) , Andras "probirs" Nemeth (1,041,228), Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress (626,395), Charlie “Epiphany77” Carrel (545,714) and Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado (267,675).
Dvoress was the one to burst the money bubble at Level 21 after eliminating Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi with aces against Shakerchi's ace-queen.

Among those who reached the money but came up short from making it to the final day are Mikita "fish2013" Badziakouski, Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, Thomas "wushutm" Muehloecker and Joao "Naza114" Vieira.

Action will resume tomorrow, on Monday May 4th at 3:30 p.m. EST at Level 22 which features a small blind of 17,500 and big blind of 35,000 with a 4,500 ante. The remaining 11 players are all guaranteed to collect $28,601 but all eyes will be on the top prize of $271,790 as well as the SCOOP title.
