The 2019 Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series Event #1: $350 DeepStack NLH attracted 752 entries (225 on 1a, 200 1b, and 327 1c), but just before the start of Day 2 on Sunday 15 players jumped into action to bring the total field up to 767 entries.

That generated a $230,100 prize pool with the eventual winner slated to take home $41,412. After 15 hours of play on Day 2, the field was whittled down to the final six with Guillermo Reyes and his stack of 11.175 million leading the way.

The remaining players are slated to return Monday afternoon to play down to a winner with action resuming in Level 27 (30,000/60,000/60,000) with 28:52 remaining on the clock.

The bubble burst shortly after the first break of the day when there were two simultaneous eliminations at different tables. As a result, Chris Nomikos and Javier Sarache both bubbled, albeit by splitting the $504 that was reserved for 96th place.

From there the eliminations came quick and included 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Player of the Year Ory Hen (12th - $,428), Steve Karp (21st - $1,848), Day 1c chip leader Adam Horowitz (29th - $1,075), Mike Newman (30th - $1,075), Matt Yorra (43rd - $937), Day 1b chip leader Sean Shah (49th - $828), start-of-the-day chip leader Aaron Klausman (51st - $828), Ariel Quintana (70th - $683), Daniel Pearlman (78th - $619), and Henry Billete (95th - $504).

Regarding Hen, he exited in the penultimate level of the night when he jammed his last 12 big blinds holding ace-six of diamonds on the button only to have Aleksandr Shevelev wake up with two black nines in the big blind. Hen turned both straight and flush draws, but as he said it was “too many outs.” The river was a brick and Hen hit the rail in 12th place for a $3,428 payday.

At the final table, Robert Mantin bowed out in ninth place after running ace-nine into Richard Perea’s ace-ten. Mantin failed to get lucky and had to settle for ninth place and $4,142 in prize money.

Perea also hit the rail in eighth place for $5,518 before Reyes won a monster against Ryan Van Sanford. Both players flopped a pair of aces, but the latter’s kicker was good. That is until Reyes paired his on the river to make two pair and vault over 11 million in chips.

Play will resume at 2 p.m. EDT on Monday. Additionally, the $560 buy-in The Deeper Stack will begin at 11 a.m. local time.
