The Lodge Championship Series has just had the Day 1e flight come to an end in Event 8: $1,600 Mystery Bounty 1 Million Guaranteed after 11 hours of play here in Round Rock, Texas. A total of 76 runners came through the doors, having just 10 bag up for the second day of this tournament.

Leading the way is Canada's Elliot Smith who piled his 756,500 stack into a Day 2 bag. Smith seemed to be on a constant grind until the last three tables. He picked up ace-king against Caleb Shumard who had pocket kings and managed to spike an ace to catapult into the lead.

Closest to the Canadian is Christopher Adams who was sitting in front until the final two tables started to deplete. Adams was on a steady climb throughout the night that saw him take the lead of the fight after he won two flips, eliminating an opponent in each. He is currently fourth overall in the chips counts headed into Day 2 with 555,500.

Felix Weis seemed to be running with few hurdles to surpass during the day, but Jesse Solano then became one. The turned board was king-high when Weis moved his chips into the middle holding big slick. Solano called with king-ten and caught a fortuitous ten on the river. Weis was left short but overcame it, finishing the night with 311,000 which was good for third on the leaderboard.

Chad Fullmer ended the day in a cooler of a hand, having a pair of aces versus the cowboys of Cary Douglass. An ace binked the flop, making Douglass the Day 2 bubble. Fullmer advanced with 289,000 headed into his bag by night's end.

The ten survivors from this flight will combine with all other Day 1 players who advance for Day 2 on Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. to crown a champion. Everyone on the final day will be guaranteed at least a min-cash and will have bounties in play, having every knockout earn a bounty chip that can be redeemed for a shot at the $100,000 top prize.

Blinds on Day 2 will bump up to 60-minutes in length and as of now, will begin at 2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. The prize pool, payouts, and seating chart will be posted prior to the start of play. The day will not halt until a winner's photo has been taken, claiming victory in Event 6.

Cooler Ends the Day as Douglass Bubbles

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jesse Solano opened to 16,000 from under the gun and Chad Fullmer called in the cutoff. Cary Douglass pushed his 52,500 stack into the middle from the small blind and Solano folded. Fullmer snap-called and the cards went up.

Cary Douglass: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Chad Fullmer: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

The cooler had Douglass in a tough spot and the {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} flop didn't help. A {4-Hearts} turn had Douglass drawing dead to the {9-Diamonds} river and he was dubbed the Day 2 bubble boy of this flight.

Smith Starting to Pull Away

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

James Galloway raised to 15,000 from under the gun, and a three-bet of 45,000 came from Elliot Smith on the button. Galloway called to see the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop where he tapped.

Smith bet 50,000 and Galloway instantly called. An {a-Diamonds} hit down on the turn, both players tapped and the river bricked out with a {2-Spades}. Both checked again and Smith tabled {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Galloway mucked, shipping another pot to Smith who extends his lead.

New Chipleader on Table 31

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Elliot Smith opened to 14,000 from under the gun and Caleb Shumard three-bet, making it 35,000 to go. Smith ripped it in for around 281,000 and Shumard snap-called in the biggest pot of the night.

Elliot Smith: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Caleb Shumard: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The cowboys had a commanding lead on the hand but a very wet-looking {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} flop hit the felt, giving the Canadian a flush draw.

An {a-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn, hitting Smith with a lead-changing bullet and the {6-Hearts} sealed it for him. Elliot reeled in a chip lead pot after besting the kings of Shumard just two eliminations away from Day 2.

Whittington Falls to the Dimes of Shumard

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The action was unsure but it appeared that Caleb Shumard opened and Blake Whittington three-bet shoved. Shumard called, having Whittington covered and cards were tabled.

Blake Whittington: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Caleb Shumard: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Shumard had the hand dominated and the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} runout was of no concern to him. Whittington was eliminated just shy of a Day 2 birth.
