Day 1f of Event #6: 1M GTD Mystery Bounty is through for the night after almost twelve hours of play that went until 4:30 a.m. local time. This sixth of eight flights attracted the largest amount yet with 86 entries, which played down to just eleven players (12%) at the end of the day.

Bagging the chip lead was the Lodge Poker Club’s own Michael Reisman who put a gargantuan amount of 717,000 into his bag at the end of the night. He added the large majority of his chips in the last couple of levels including one of the final eliminations in the double-elimination bubble burst.

Second in chips at the day’s conclusion was Dale Roesel with 626,000 after he also started to lean on the field late to accumulate most of his stack.

Richard Chevalier finished third in chips with 514,000 as he had the lead a couple of levels before the end and coasted to a comfortable finish.

Hieu Dang launched himself into fourth in chips with 350,500 when he made the final elimination of the day after a dramatic rivered wheel finally burst the long bubble just seconds after the thirteen-handed stalemate had been broken by Reisman.

William Lahti rounded out the top five counts as he bagged 306,500, a somewhat modest amount after he had been the big chip leader earlier in the night with double the second largest stack, but his finishing amount will still be plenty moving forward.

The eleven players will move on to Day 2, on Sunday and join all the other advancing players.

PokerNews will continue with coverage of the final starting flights with Days 1g and 1h tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Dang Dramatically Ends the Night

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Hieu Dang

On the table adjacent following the thirteenth place elimination, there was a chance to make it consecutive knockouts on consecutive hands as Wai Mak was all in with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} against the {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} of Hieu Dang.

The flop make the rest of the players groan as it came {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs} hitting the ace. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} to open up the wheel possibility and the river did just that as the {3-} came off to burst the bubble and end the night dramatically.

"I want to thank all my fans" said Dang as everyone was celebrating making the money at 4:30 a.m. local time.

Another Break Time

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The last break turned out not to be the final break of the night as play has hit a wall with 13 remaining. Despite some interesting hands and action the field has remained steady. Players will return in 15 minutes to see who will bubble Day 1f.

Roesel Ratchets Up Pressure

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

From the button Dale Roesel three-bet to 51,000, Eric Tang called from the cutoff after he had initially raised.

The flop came {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Roesel bet 22,000 and Tang called. The turn was the {3-Spades}. Both players checked to the river which came the {7-Diamonds}.

First to act, Tang took a long time, about a full minute, before he checked. Roesel then jammed all in. Tang peaked at his cards a couple of times before folding.

Hieu Dang raised to 25,000 from the button, Eric Tang jammed all in from the big blind and Dang called.

It was a flip as Tang had the {a-Spades}{8-Spades} vs the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} of Dang.

Everybody in the room except Tang was pulling for the sevens to hold as the flop came {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. But the turn was the {8-Diamonds} to pair the eight of Tang. The river was the {q-Clubs} and Tang survived to extend thirteen-handed play further.

Action was picked up on the river as the board read {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Eric Tang bet 35,500 into a pot of about the same size.

Elijah Ruffin called after a few moments. Tang showed the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Ruffin tabled the winner with the {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} pair of eights to continue his recent momentum and knock Tang down to one of the short stacks.
