Kornuth Stays in the Game

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mahesh Rathi raised to 6,500 from the hijack, Adrian Garduno called in the cutoff. Philip Shing three-bet from the button and Chance Kornuth moved all his stack into the middle from the small blind which was for less than Shing's three-bet. Rathi called and Garduno folded.

The flop came {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Rathi bet 10,000, Shing raised to 44,000 and Rathi folded.

Shing tabled the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} which was trailing the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} of Kornuth who had hit the flop. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and the river the {q-Hearts} and he doubled up to stay alive as his Day 2 has gotten off on the wrong foot thus far.
