Albert Knafo Leads Going Into The Final Day of MSPT Venetian $1,100 Main Event

Albert Knafo Leads Going into Day 3
Albert Knafo Leads Going into Day 3

Day 2 began with 396 hopefuls looking to make a deep run in the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour $1,100 (1.5M GTD) Main Event. By the end, just 15 players remained — with Albert Knafo leading the pack with over $13 million in chips.

The eliminations came fast and furious from the start. It only took two levels to reach the money after Nick Pupillo busted out in 298th place. From the point on, the payout line remained long as players busted out faster than they could receive payout tickets.

Some notables who managed to cash include Shannon Shorr, Mike Dentale, Nadya Magnus, Mike Shin, Catherine Dever, and Michael Rocco.

Earlier in the day, Rocco had Knafo in dire straits after Knafo tried bluffing on the flop and getting snapped off. The cards had other things in mind, however, as Knafo is now in prime position going into Day 3.

The remaining 15 players will re-draw for seats and return to battle down to an eventual champion at noon tomorrow (local time). They will all be in pursuit of an MSPT title and the $367,801 first-place prize that goes with it.

Stay tuned as PokerNews will be on site to bring you all the action from the final day of Mid-Stakes Poker Tour $1,100 (1.5M GTD) Main Event!
