The Triton £100,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event final nine will return to action at 1 p.m. local time, with an extra day's play set to decide the champion.

A Triton record of 130 entrants took part in the event at London Hilton Park Lane and created a £12,200,000 prize pool.

A £3,080,000 first-place prize lays in wait for the victor, with three other players also guaranteed a seven-figure payday.

Triton co-founder Paul Phua (5,875,000) just about holds the advantage over the UK's Ben Heath (5,790,000), with Wai Kin Yong (5,050,000), son of Phua's fellow Triton co-founder Richard Yong, also one of the top challengers.

Michael Soyza (3,870,000), Michael Chi Zhang (3,740,000), Stephen Chidwick (2,955,000), Sam Greenwood (2,385,000), Wai Leong Chan (1,650,000) and Daniel Cates (1,200,000), completed yet another stellar Triton line-up.

Wai Leong Chan moved all in from late positon with {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for 1,650,000 and Wai Kin Yong snap-called in the big blind after looking down at his {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

Wai Leong Chan: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Wai Kin Yong: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came down {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Yong's set of sixes took a commanding lead. A {3-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Chan was now drawing dead to the {4-Spades} river. Yong scooped in the pot with his set of sixes, eliminating Chan from the tournament in ninth.

Yong Extends His Lead

Level 23 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Wai Kin Yong called for 160,000 in the small blind with {a-Spades}{6-Spades}, and Ben Heath raised to 540,000 with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} from the big blind.

Yong called, and the flop fell {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Both players checked, and the {k-Spades} hit the turn.

Yong checked with the nut flush, and Heath checked behind with top pair.

The {8-Spades} appeared on the river, and Yong bet 700,000.

Heath took a final look at his cards before he paused for 30 seconds. The Brit threw in a time bank card for extra thinking time, and then another.

After 90 seconds in total had passed, Heath called and saw the bad news.

Cates Doubles Early Thanks to a Lady

Level 23 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Dan Cates

Stephen Chidwick opened to 400,000 from early position with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Daniel Cates moved all in for 1,030,000 in the big blind with his {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Chidwick called and the two tabled their hands.

Daniel Cates: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The flop came down huge for Cates when the dealer fanned out {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} on the flop, giving him the lead with his newly acquired pair of queens.

An {a-Clubs} landed on the turn and Chidwick now picked up a straight draw, but the {2-Diamonds} changed nothing as Cates scooped in the pot with his two pair for a double through the Brit.

Zhang Knocks Cates Back Down

Level 23 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Daniel Cates opened to 320,000 from middle position with {a-Spades}{4-Spades} and Michael Chi Zhang defended his big blind, holding {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The dealer spread out {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Zhang checked to Cates who bet 250,000 and Zhang called.

A {q-Diamonds} landed on the turn, both players checked to the {2-Hearts} and once more to showdown. Zhang tabled {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair and Cates mucked, shipping the pot to Zhang.
