Sergi Reixach Is Running Away in the GGPoker Super MILLION$

Sergi Reixach

The penultimate GGPoker Super MILLION$ of 2022 has reached its final table after 139 of online poker's best players were whittled to only nine on Day 1. The nine finalists return to the action from 6:00 p.m. GMT on December 20 to play for the bulk of the $1,390,000 prize pool. First place prize money weighs in at a cool $302,053.

Mexico-based Spaniard Sergi Reixach finds himself in pole position when the race for the six-figure prizes begins. Indeed, Reixach's stack is so substantial that he can afford to double up any of his opponents and still be the tournament's chip leader. It is Reixach's tournament to lose, but as we have seen before, holding a commanding lead in this $10,300 buy-in event does not guarantee you come out of the other side with the title in tow.

Reixach returns to battle at what is only his fourth Super MILLION$ final table with 4,968,497 chips, or 142 big blinds in old money. The talented Spaniard finished sixth and ninth at back-to-back final tables in July 2021, and finished fifth last week as "LJoeseph62" marched onto victory. The ball is truly in Reixach's court such is the size of his colossal chip lead.

Israel's Barak Wisbrod continues his impressive recent form in the Super MILLION$ with another final table appearance. Wisbrod finished second to "WOOLOOLOO" on November 22nd, and busted fifth on December 6 for $389,897 inthe WSOP Winter Circuit edition of the event. Wisbrod has a war chest of 2,417,120 chips (69 big blinds) at his disposal when play resumes.

Pedro Garagnani of Brazil occupies third place courtesy of his 2,093,107 chips (60 big blinds). The Brazilian is a regular in the Super MILLION$, but he still awaits his maiden victory. This is the sixth time Garagnani has found himself at the final table, and the first time since he finished as runner-up to Alex "FutureofMe" Kulev on November 2, 2022.

Mexico-based "RetourAuLobby" is looking to continue their 100% final table strike rate when they sit down behind 1,153,007 chips (33 big blinds). RetourAuLobby navigated their way to the final table of the Super MILLION$ on November 15, their first such appearance. They went all the way, defeating Eelis Parssinen heads-up to capture the $327,250 top prize. Will history repeat itself today?

China's "XavierXu" is an unknown quantity at this final table, and that could work in their favor. XavierXu has one Super MILLION$ cash on their resume, a 17th place finish on November 22. That result came with $23,769, the bulk of the Chinese grinder's $65,526 of GGPoker winnings.

Fans of Anatoly Filatov will be delighted to learn their hero has reached his fourth Super MILLION$ final table since November 2. However, they will be less enthralled to learn his 715,296 stack is the equivalent of 20 big blinds, which placed him sixth when play resumes. Filatov has won this event twice during his career, with his Super MILLION$ earnings accounting for more than $3.36 million of his $9.58 million in GGPoker earnings.

"Zombie Chow" plays out of Montenegro and is looking to make it a case of third time lucky as they chase down their first Super MILLION$ title. They have an eighth and fifth-place finish in this tournament, but have plenty of work ahead of them if they want to become this event's champion because their 572,140 chips are only worth 16 big blinds.

The second shortest stack, 557,873 chips (16 big blinds), belongs to Nikita Kuznetsov. An eighth-place finish on November 29 is the best Super MILLION$ result for Kuznetsov. While this event has not been kind to Kuznetsov, he does have an APL title to his name along with more than $3.8 million in GGPoker cashes.

"BananenBencb789" of Austria is the final table's short stack, propping up the chip counts with their 509,136 stack (15 big blinds). The Austrian has never finished higher than 13th in the Super MILLION$ before today, should they managed to turn around their flagging fortunes and finish second or better, their lifetime GGPoker winnings will pass through $1 million.
