Event #41 on this year's WSOP schedule is one of a handful of "hybrid" events -- mixed-format tourneys designed to challenge players' skills in multiple games. Mixed-limit hold'em (with alternating 30-minute periods of fixed-limit and no-limit action) makes its second appearance of 2008 on Sunday. This $1,500-buy in event gets underway at 5pm from the Amazon Room.

Fred Goldberg triumphed over a 620-player field to win this event in 2007, collecting $204,935 and the bracelet. He'll likely be on hand to defend his title.

Players Being Called to Their Seat

With less than ten minutes to go, players are being called to their seats ready for some mixed hold'em action. We're already in to the forties, in terms of events, so time is running out for those who have not won a bracelet yet.

Early Action

A player in middle position raised it up before Alex Kravchenko reraised to 150 which the player called.

The flop came {J-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. The middle position player check-called Kravchenko's bet.

The turn came {5-Clubs} and once again Kravchenko found his bet called once it was checked to him.

The river {10-Spades} saw the middle position player lead out his time for a 100 bet but surprisingly folded for the extra 100 that Kravchenko raised.

He's up to 3,300 early doors.

First Hand of No Limit

In a hand of No Limit David Plastik has won a pot that has put him up to 6,000 chips already. Plastik raised to 150 before a player in late position reraised all in for 1,725, that Plastik called.

Plastik flipped over {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} and he was dominating his opponent's {A-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}.

The board ran {6-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}.

An easy way for Plastik to get some after his opponent over played a raggy ace.

Bonomo No More

Justin Bonomo has been eliminated early, after he flopped top pair with a ten. His opponent held {3-?} {3-?} and made a set to eliminate Bonomo.

Jared Hamby Going the Wrong Direction

No-Limit Hold'em:

An under-the-gun raiser made it 100 to go. A middle-position player called, the button called, and Jared Hamby called from the big blind.

The flop came down {6-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {2-Hearts} and Hamby led out for 325. Only the button called.

The turn came the {9-Diamonds} and Hamby bet out again, this time he made it 750. The button called.

The river came the {4-Hearts} and both players checked. Hamby showed {Q-Clubs} {6-Clubs} and his opponent showed {K-Spades} {6-Spades} for a better kicker.

Hamby is down to 1,500.

Bad Beat for Kenna James

No-Limit Hold'em:

After a player made it 75 to go, Kenna James reraised to 225 from the small blind. The player called.

James had bet 325 in the dark before the flop came {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts}. His opponent moved all in for 1,725 total. James quickly made the call.

James: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

The turn came the {J-Diamonds} and then the river came a terrible black {10-Spades} for James. He is now down to 1,800.

Game Set and Match

No Limit Hold'em:

Alan Le raised it up to 75 from under the gun before a player in middle position reraised it to 275, that Le called.

Le led out on every street for 300, 450 and 825. All these bets were called and the board ended up as {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {5-Spades} {3-Clubs} {J-Clubs}.

Le's opponent mucked upon seeing his {2-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}. Le up to 5,000 now.
